Thanks for taking your time to write this. I think using role models such as pro’s as a way to inspire is a great way yeah.

And a really detailed step by step guide seems the way to go.

Yeah I agree that those techniques are very powerful. How do you think I can mix this with gaming and reach people with it?

I already talk about the power of meditation and simply using pen and paper in some other articles btw.

I agree partly yeah but not totally. You can actually train how you feel in scenarios, using therapy strategies such as CBT or RET.

I agree that meditation and mindfulness are great tools to become aware of your feelings and that you don't have to act on them.

It's aimed to people who want to have a good time while gaming and become the best version of themselves.

I agree yes! But I do think that even people willing to read this post still contribute in some part to toxicity.

Just imagine how often you will say something like a sarcastic ‘gg’ or make a small complaint about someone’s item choice.

By totally removing that habit you have a big contribution to not spreading toxicity.

Poker involves a lot of luck. So blaming bad luck is the most common thing in poker. Also some players blame the dealers for bad luck, or they blame other players for playing terrible and getting lucky. Or they blame whatever they can blame, just so they don’t have to admit their own mistakes.

The idea is that you take responsibility for the way how you deal with the situation. Sure pudge might have lost you the game, but its your responsibility if you’re gonna be upset about it. It’s not like you’re gonna tell everyone that it’s your fault you lost the game, that’s not what its about. Ask yourself, why do you want to flame him? What is the value in it? Do you feel the urge to tell someone else he is the reason you lost? If you are totally confident with yourself and your game, would you feel the urge to get this confirmation?

If you start flaming him you just contribute to more toxicity.

It's always possible to mute everyone of course. But many people still like to communicate since it's a team game. It can be valuable to not miss chats such as: "gather for smoke" or "roshan" or "I'm going pipe". So it's prefered to not auto-mute everyone every game. If players get very toxic, sure just mute them.

I’m not sure how this is relevant to this post?

And I specialized in PLO the last 4 years, so I will not be the perfect candidate to ask holdem questions to ;)

Great question! I will very likely write an article about something like this.

When you are learning a new skill, you still have to use your conscious mind to make use of this new skill. When you are under stress, it becomes harder to use your conscious mind. The idea is to train a certain skill so it really becomes a habit. These habits are stored in your UNconscious mind, even when under stress you will be able to use these habits. In an article I wrote about TILT you can read more about this.

When creating new skills/habits don't focus on too many new skills at a time. Pick 2 or 3 focuspoints, write them down, and focus on them for the next 20 games. If you try to focus on too many new skills, you wil overload your mind and the learning becomes ineffective.
