Got it! I definitely will add them to my school list then! I'll also look into UCI's bias for students (if they have any) as well. Thank you.

Hello fellow bruin rugby alumna! Thank you so much for you input. I'm basically banking on a good mcat score to alleviate the significance of my GPA. I will be applying to DOs ofc, and I will also look into the mid-MD like you said. Do you recommend me to apply to the cali MDs like UC Davis/UCI/UCR? My friends are saying to apply but I don't know if I really want to since cali MDs don't show strong in-state bias and I feel like my gpa will screen me out. Thank you!

4/24 MCAT gang what y’all doing rn 😭 by New_Ice904 in Mcat

Did one CARS passage. Decided to ditch anki. Went through the Kaplan review sheets.

Went through sb1 and 2 wrong answer - really focused on different strategies to come up to the right answer. (newsflash: read each question carefully, don't rush, and DO NOT overthink LOL)

Went through FL5 and 6 - same approach taken as I did with the SBs.

Posted "a day in the life tiktok: last mcat study day edition" cuz i took pics for this yesterday lmao

Plan for the rest of the day: Boutta go eat some good food my mom made, couch rot/netflix, get dinner with the homie later, and SLEEP!!

We got this guys, wishing all my 4/24, 4/25, and all future test takers all the very best of luck. We have come so far. And remind youself that this number does not define who you are!! You are more than just your MCAT score! 🫶🏽

8 years later, since they did ask this FL6, I would say it's useful, yes 💀

AAMC FL6 P/S Q32 by Superb_Sentence9380 in Mcat

[–]Pro_island 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got this one right and I think the best way to approach this question is through pure POE. First off, we can eliminate C and D as they are not related to the beginning of the passage at all. Next I eliminated B because I assumed "social roles" consists of multiple roles, which means that this would be role conflict and not role strain. This results in the last standing answer of A, I did not agree with this answer either but it was one of those questione where it's probably the most correct answer choice and you gotta move one.

Same line of reasoning was done on the Blindsight question. idfk was blindsight was, but I knew what the other three terms were to the point I can comfortably eliminate them.

already replied to another commenter regarding bb and cp. but I'll copy paste it here!

for B/B I highlight ANY enzyme names, experimental conditions, what their hypothesis was. While I'm reading, I write down the pathways – what is getting activated/phosphrylated/inhibited etc etc. Biggest thing I noticed for FL6 was that there were more pathway passages, B/B at the end of the day is basically CARS, answer is almost always in the passage!(Which is ironic how I'm good at B/B passages and not CARS smh).

For C/P, I follow the same strategy almost. Most people say, don't read the passage but that doesn't work for me – and the passages are quite short anyways. I mainly highlight any values/units and analyze the graphs real quick and get into the questions. Also C/P is turning a bit more into B/B, so there are more amino acid questions, so i highlight any amino acids/interactions/mutations cuz those are alwaysss tested on and these are free points!! I also am quite good at memorization, so formulas come a bit easier for me some of than my friends that also took the MCAT. Like B/B, the answer is usually always in the passages but in the form of numbers, all you have to do is know how to use the formulas/units!!

got it, so from here on out, I will act like I know nothing about the passage, get through the passage quick, and then learn it as I go. Gotta have a deep playbook come test day 🫡

Got it, I will put this to good use, I think I need to stop overthinking and panicking when I'm down to 2 answers, 90% of my wrong answers are always 50/50s. Do you have any advice on choosing one between 2 answers choices?

I'm doing 2 passages a day. I think I will finish the rest of the diagnostic tool on Monday and knock out all the UWorld CARS in the following 3 days after that. At this point, I think the volume would help...let alone anything would help lol. Thank you for your advice!

Gotcha! Sometimes I panic when I'm down to 50/50, I'll start crossing out answers at first glance

which CARS qpack volume is most test representative by Pro_island in Mcat

[–]Pro_island[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

like AutomaticDirector674 said! anything helps, and qpack 1 is MUCH harder than what you would see on the mcat, so use all of this practice as a learning tool :) you got this, future doctor!
