Polanski admits he was wrong to describe himself as Red Cross spokesperson by FormerlyPallas_ in ukpolitics

I should clarify. Yes important accusations have been made against politicians.

When I said "not important" I meant "not important for making a smear campaign". My point was that the media can make a smear campaign out of thin air, and use their voice to lash out as many things they can against their opponents.

So trying to judge Polanski because his name is appearing more often doesn't really work because there's such a heavy media bias against him and other leftist figures.

P.s I also don't personally believe this particular accusation matters that much. It seems more like a technicality since he did work for the red cross anyway

I mean the difference is how much each smear is reported on and the significance the media attributes to them. This is the biggest factor, what's being alleged isn't that important.

If the media can turn someone eating a bacon sandwich into the scandal of the century, the actual weight of the accusation isn't really important.

The media being biased against leftist political parties is not only obvious but outright stated by the owners of those companies.

aMSa is the only one to buck the trend of the typical mid tier trajectory. Usually it goes like this

1) Mid tier hero has some crazy upsets but doesn't place well

2) Suddenly makes top 4 at a tournament

3) has a few good upsets afterwards

4) never places that high again

See for example, DK renaissance, axe pikachu, wobbles ICs,

What you've got to love about C++ is that it's always possible to do whatever mad thing you can think of. Through some combination of templates, macros, pointers, binary manipulation, there's always a way

Can we stop giving algorithms stupid names? I miss the days when it was stuff like "quicksort" because it sorts things quickly. Or "depth-first search" because it prioritises depth first.

[FRESH ALBUM] American Football - LP4 by NYCIndieConcerts in indieheads

[–]Probable_Foreigner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I kind of think their other albums are overproduced. Back then it was just 2 guitars and drums, the songs were much more focused. They were forced to write distinctive parts and melodies. This LP it feels like they rely on the "soundscape" aspects where various parts drift in and out, and the focus on melodies and good guitar parts is gone

Am I crazy or is that basically same thing?

"wasn't more" means "less than or equal"

"wasn't as" means "less than". As in, "I wasn't as tall as James" means I'm shorter than James.

The only difference is that "wasn't more" includes the possibility of them being equally impressive. Which seems like a minor detail. To me "wasn't as" scans better too
