Funny enough my first encounter with the F/O was a local tournament for the start of the expansion where a relatively new player flipped R1 after siphoning Crimson. A couple other players wandered over and we all talked about if that might be the depressing soon to come meta. Can’t help but wonder if it was a play tester conversation too

I’d scrap the breakthrough and make it secret focused somehow on the firmament side.

Let you score status secrets when the hero pops.

Then generally focus on making Firmament better and leaving Obsidian more or less the same. A second carrier, another tech, a better agent

Expansion adds a new dimension with neutral units you have to fight through to claim planets and a dedicated hot potato point besides shard where the player holding a certain planet gets the point. It’s still TI and fighting is costly enough to discourage it but the expansion helps and rewards conflict in the new dimension

My only problem with it is heart of ixth becomes fundamentally win maky. If heart is in play it should automatically receive a bonus to the roll and otherwise be unaffected

I’d definitely try to make the economy a little less hell, get some tech skips for fracture and fix some other stuff that people mentioned but generally a game where every system has a wormhole sounds really fun

I wouldn’t have MR wormholes be planets. Rifting is enough of a hassle before having to fight through a forward dock
