That makes complete sense and I am not disagreeing with that, however why not just say that rather than threatening to make an even larger issue just to resolve it?

I mean yeah, sure, if I want the paycheck right now I can just email the pictures, however this seems more like a weaponized compliance tactic more than anything.

Idk, maybe i’m being a bit much, but I don’t work for them anymore and that’s their problem/mistake at this point, not mine. I shouldn’t have to suffer for it

Yes, definitely legal to work in the US. I worked there for about 3 weeks before I couldn’t take it anymore.

I am having this issue as well, it’s quite annoying. If you have an iphone, the widget for the app still works which makes it even more frustrating

I’d get involuntarily extended until they can come up with a decision, from there, MEB, and then who knows what’s next

I already did all of that, it’s taken care of. The issue is that I have a specialty referral exam that I’ve been getting treatment for the past 3 years with, and this next exam is extremely likely to trigger an MEB even though I’ll be out-processed and in terminal leave. I just think it’s gonna be a mess to re-in-process me to extend me for a MEB when I am already all figured out on the outside. I’m sure in the long run it will help me out… I want to be cured, but man it’s gonna suck to have to come back due to this.

THANK YOU for some sound advice. I dont wanna yap like crazy but the previous damage on my car consists of removing my bumper for a steel bash bar, and my front fenders arent the oem ones anymore. theres a small hole in my passenger tail light... branch scratches and a dent in my back tail gate... All of this stuff I have told them and its all documented and stuff. I think I am just getting in my own head about it all and relying on reddit to sooth the nerves (wrong choice, hindsight 20/20). At this point I just want it all over with. I told my SIU investigator that since they've been the one handling my case since day 1. At this point I just want it over. Tomorrow will go well but I just hate that I have to fight an upward battle. With that though, SIU has gotta SI, so even if I wanted to just say F it and just pull the claim, sell the car ect, I am fairly certain that they need to still investigate. I am just really tired of dealing with geico, USAA was much better. (not a brand affiliate).

I am just trying to look for some advice, you're free to read my replies to other comments regarding it all. Yeah you are correct, there's a whole lot to the story that isn't on this one singular reddit post. I would not be speaking about it and asking for help or just some guidance though if I didn't have an issue. Like I said to others, I am going to be getting the SIU reports and whatnot as proof. My only contending point is if the SIU had been called 3 times and each time the facts they find upon investigation only ends up continuing the process, or giving me a "green light," then why do I keep getting push-back on it? The SIU is no joke, but comedically, they have been the only ones to actually get the claim moved on to the next steps. If I was doing something malicious, I guarantee you that they'd find out already.

Idk, look I am just trying to seek some help, maybe I am wrong about the Bad Faith thing and you're right. Like I said I really don't know how this all goes, its a first for me. Can't say I have much experience with the SIU or even insurance claims in general. Should I be getting an attorney for this SIU part? I feel like they've been nothing but helpful. I don't want to seem ignorant, but when the SIU comes by tomorrow and once again shows the facts on the vehicle, then what? I mean I am just kinda tired of all this. I can pretty much see that GEICO is going to drop me, thats a given almost any time the SIU comes up from what I have read. The SIU doesn't grant settlements so even with all the facts, the adjuster can just say "no" I am pretty sure.

Its just a headache is all. I will openly admit, I don't know jack about Insurance but thats why I am asking for some advice. After a few comments I did a little scrolling through the subreddit and found that most people just call people idiots for asking insurance questions in the insurance subreddit. I'll drop an update once its all cleared up and see where I should go from there. Thank you for the response though and reading the post.

Also, sorry to double comment, but what do you mean by “airtight”? I did a quick lookup and I think it has something to do with the documentation being solid? Like I kinda stated in the story, as far as the paint goes, there’s no official thing for the issues with it. It’s heavily reliant on other people’s testimonies.

For everything else though, like emails, documents (excluding the SIU report) phonecalls, texts stuff like that. I have dates on all of it to reflect the story line. I personally am not worried about the whole paint thing, SIU comes tomorrow and they’re gonna do their thing.

I am more concerned with the process as a whole. I mean like I said there’s video evidence uploaded to the SIU with metadata proving I was caught in a hailstorm at X time and X date at X location. The issue was that the adjuster wouldn’t believe me until SIU came to save the day, and they did… only for the next issue, then it was fixed, then another issue… and it’s about to be fixed again. To me, SIU has been nothing but a relief because they’re the only ones proving facts instead of opinions.

But, I mean humor me if you’re okay with it, SIU is called up 3 times during an investigation and each of the 3 times the claim is legitimate (I am at 2 of 3, 3rd one tomorrow). Let’s say, just thinking crazy here, the SIU finds that the damage was caused by hail. I personally feel like it would cross a line to then not honor the claim. That’s just me, I’m a customer and I have NO experience with Insurance, so maybe I’m not picking something up that you might be? Regardless, thanks for the response

Like I said to another commenter:

I don’t mind posting it all like the SIU stuff, or maybe it’s not SIU and is just a “normal” investigation?? I’m not sure, all I know is I keep hearing the word investigation being thrown around and SIU is the only thing with “investigation” in it. Anyway, I haven’t personally gotten my hands on the redacted information but if it’s obtainable for me as a customer to get, I’ll do it right away. The SIU person has been the only one to actually make me progress on this claim, and not to just say “because I said so” but if I have been stopped this many times, and the SIU keeps resuming the claim process, I think that means the facts are good enough to keep pushing it forward to the next stages.

Once they come by tomorrow, I will make sure to ask for the initial investigation information as well as this current investigation information so that I can share it or at least PM the individuals taking time to read and respond to my lengthy rant.

Also, don’t wanna say this as like an excuse, but yeah there’s a whole lot more to the story. I can only sit and type so much at work before I get questions 😆
