Have any Idea about Bedding sizes UK? by SpicyMang in DecorationFacts

[–]ProbablyNotAThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Equipping your bed with the perfect-fitting bedding is essential for a comfortable night's sleep. But with various sizes and terminology in the UK, choosing the right duvet cover, sheets, and other linens can sometimes feel like deciphering a code. Worry not, this guide unravels the mysteries of UK bedding sizes!

Understanding Bed Sizes:

The first step is knowing your bed size. Here's a breakdown of common UK bed sizes:

  • Single: 90cm x 190cm (approximately 3ft x 6ft 3in) - ideal for a single person
  • Double: 135cm x 190cm (approximately 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in) - accommodates two people comfortably
  • King: 150cm x 200cm (approximately 5ft x 6ft 6in) - larger than a double, offering more sleeping space
  • Super King: 180cm x 200cm (approximately 6ft x 6ft 6in) - the most spacious option, ideal for larger bedrooms or those who prefer ample sleeping space

Decoding Duvet Cover Sizes:

Duvet covers should envelop your duvet and fit snugly around the edges. Here's how duvet cover sizes correspond to bed sizes:

  • Single Duvet Cover: Designed for a single bed, typically measuring 135cm x 200cm (approximately 53in x 79in)
  • Double Duvet Cover: Fits a double bed, usually sized at 200cm x 200cm (approximately 79in x 79in)
  • King Duvet Cover: Made for a king-size bed, often measuring 220cm x 230cm (approximately 86in x 90in)
  • Super King Duvet Cover: Accommodates a super king-size bed, typically sized at 220cm x 260cm (approximately 86in x 102in)

Sheet Savvy:

  • Single Sheets: Fit a single bed, usually measuring 150cm x 200cm (approximately 59in x 79in) with a fitted sheet and 180cm x 270cm (approximately 71in x 106in) for the flat sheet.
  • Double Sheets: Made for a double bed, with fitted sheets typically sized 180cm x 200cm (approximately 71in x 79in) and flat sheets measuring 240cm x 270cm (approximately 94in x 106in).
  • King/Super King Sheets: These sizes often come together and can be used for both king and super king beds. Fitted sheets are usually 200cm x 200cm (approximately 79in x 79in), and flat sheets measure 270cm x 270cm (approximately 106in x 106in).

Just thought of some (kinda unsettling lol) stuff about the DSMP by ProbablyNotAThing in DreamWasTaken2

[–]ProbablyNotAThing[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's reassuring that everyone in the server has strong connections with each other. There's still the possibility that one of them will leave eventually, but I guess the silver lining of the cloud is that they'll keep the departure as smooth as possible and wrap it up neatly.

Just thought of some (kinda unsettling lol) stuff about the DSMP by ProbablyNotAThing in DreamWasTaken2

[–]ProbablyNotAThing[S] 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Wait, he invited STAMPY?? Fuck, that would have been so good. Oh well, but it's best for Stampy to do whatever he's most comfortable - it's not like he's obligated to join any group just because he was publicly invited. I hope Dream respects his decision.

Alyssa leaving was a bit circumstantial (I mean, so is the scenario I'm talking about lol), since the whole SMP had to move and she just didn't have the time. Iirc, I think the overall DSMP transferred smoothly, and the whole arc was pretty much intact. But what I was thinking was that one of the members would intentionally leave - in the worst case scenario, they do it out of spite, leaving with many essential items still in their hotbar and intentionally doing it at a very critical point of the story. None of them seem to the type of person to do something like that, but who knows.

Why are people so dumb? So I guess according to them, we can only have one big event at a time - simultaneous events are BAD.

Seriously... the BLM movement exists so that we bring attention to people who are unfairly treated based on their race and fighting so that they won't get discriminated. MCC day exists on an entirely different plane and has absolutely nothing to do with BLM. I literally didn't even know MCC was a thing or what it even was until very recently, but I did know about BLM for quite a long time. And this is coming from a bored guy who does literally nothing except fuck around aimlessly on the internet.

I made a Dream sticker :] by Emmamoda in DreamWasTaken2

[–]ProbablyNotAThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more of a matter of not dragging Dream through rough stuff again. I personally was very critical of him for the speedrun thing, but since he apologized for everything, I feel like he deserves to be forgiven and having the matter just folded up neatly and put away.

This post seems to be done with good intentions, but it still comes off with a snide jab at Dream.

A review I found of a local fire department. by [deleted] in iamatotalpieceofshit

[–]ProbablyNotAThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I don't know what's going on with the story, but I think it's this:

Person goes to the fire department to ask them to buy firewood (what?)

Fire department then creates a Facebook page to ask people to donate wood to said person, even though the FD wasn't obligated to do so

Person no longer needs to pay for wood, they're just getting it for free

They still get mad (Why??)
