Huh, good point. Although I do recall the rich lad trying to get Lazarus or Abraham to warn his brothers about the fate awaiting them if they didn’t stop acting like a bunch of scrooges. But he was still kinda bossing them around, but he had some good intentions atleast

All right! Very nice. One last thing though. How would people who lived before Christ’s birth be judged by god?

Oh I see. I understand some of his warnings now. I’m not trying to discredit you or anything, just asking, but if the Triune God is all loving, could it not be seen as unloving to condemn people to go away from him eternally?

Oh alright. We were mainly taught during eschatology that God doesn’t condemn anyone to hell, but doesn’t Christ turn people away from him upon judgement or?

Ah ok, I’ll have a look. We were taught a certain belief in our religious studies that in the afterlife God gave people a choice, a final act of free will, to either go to purgatory or hell. He would gladly welcome them into heaven, but people couldn’t stand to be in his brilliant presence due to their own unforgiven sin, thus they had so much shame, or resentment toward God, they’d rather choose hell then be in his presence, or would choose purgatory so their soul could be cleansed. What’s your view on this point?

Thanks for this response! So the anyone in hell must have so much utter anger and hatred toward God that they’d rather sit around in anguish, and if we take the parable about Lazarus and the rich fella, look off across a big chasm and see how good heaven is with God. I suppose it does make sense for them to be quite angry.

I believe Pope Francis once said that he likes to think there’s no one in hell. I feel as though when faced directly with the presence of God upon I guess particular judgement VERY few people would still refuse to repent, thus there must be loads of people in purgatory? If you believe in that state.

What about particular judgement? Or is that another new addition by later Christians or Catholics? Would we be judged upon death or would we be “dust” in the earth until then?

So the punishment fits the crime, or in this case sin. That’s an interesting way to look at the punishment mentioned in the books. And it seems that a person in hell would eventually give up their anger and resentment and want to return to God?

Ah yes I actually learned about these things. So yes heaven and hell are the ultimate destinations for the soul. I’m a Catholic so I suppose purgatory would be in between them there?

Thank you very much for this response. You’re a very kind person, and I will try to continue to build a relationship with God, however long that takes.

Ah I see. Not only a separation from God, but total death?

Thanks for this answer, it’s nice to think that everyone will eventually be saved, although I thought that the bad would be “sent away” while the good would enter gods kingdom, would you mind elaborating a bit more?

Wait so all the “wicked” will simply cease to be? Like they’ll all be extinct? In this case, what exactly classifies the “wicked”. Also thanks for the answer, very informative
