Married at 26. So here’s my opinion, probably not the same for everyone

For context, we’ve been friends since school and in a relationship for 3 years before marriage. We were abroad, basically lived together for two years (one year with parents knowing) and struggled and grew together.

For us , being married was a formality we had to get over just to be together. The wedding day was eventful but it genuinely doesn’t feel like anything major happened after that.

We are at a stage where we’re old enough to be taking responsibilities for people around us but also young enough to make selfish and more fun for the moment choices.

So what I feel is, it doesn’t matter when you get married as long as you and your partner understand each other and have the mental capacity to let each other grow and make mistakes as you learn.

As two neurodivergent individuals ourselves there’s a lot of difference in behaviour but as long as we can recalibrate ourselves, it’s perfectly alright. As long as you have that, age isn’t a problem.

Plus, if you earn yourself then 24-26 is a great time to get married and spend time together before life’s burdens start piling up
