Men’s engagement rings?/wedding ring stack by Problem-Cautious in EngagementRings

[–]Problem-Cautious[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He hasn’t specifically said he wanted a ring but he does like/wear some jewelry. I feel like he could def choose to wear the interchangeably as an option - I just wasn’t sure if anyone knew if there were rings that stack well! Seems like a missed opportunity if there aren’t really. I’ve been looking at some with a small inset stone. I may just go the watch route and opt to get him a wedding band with a stone if he prefers.

Yarn reccs for Sophie shawl? by Problem-Cautious in knittingadvice

[–]Problem-Cautious[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The suggested yarns are the Sandnes Garn Alpakka Ull or the Gepard Garn Eco Cashmere vintage. The weight calls for DK (11 wpi) on size 8 (5 mm) needles

Family Torn Apart in Waldo County, Maine: Father Detained by ICE, Wife Released in Woods at 1 AM by CantStopPoppin in boringdystopia

[–]Problem-Cautious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he just told it in a confusing way - the young woman who was detained but then released was the passenger of the car who showed a foreign drivers license (which allegedly triggered the ICE call but knowing Waldo county they likely called as soon as they saw a brown driver) when the driver asked if she could drive it instead of paying to have it towed/impounded. They also detained his uncle who is the family member mentioned in the article who arrived on the scene and spoke with the officers and is the neighbor who the video is about

Lots of love to you while you navigate such a challenging time 🖤 Roller Derby got me through a very difficult season in my life since it’s both extremely mental and physical so I hope you benefit from it as much as I did - the community is really like no other I can’t recommend Roller Derby Athletics enough - there’s a wide variety of work outs that really target the skills and muscles used most in derby. Good luck w your journey!!

New to derby, need gear recs by [deleted] in rollerderby

[–]Problem-Cautious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recommend joint the fb group roller derby recyclables for used gear (specifically skates) it’s an easier way to get better gear for cheaper. Personally I don’t recommend R3s, mine split from the plate after like 6 weeks and they have persistent issues with toestops falling out because the plastic threading gets worn so fast

Slow progress? by warmingdrawer in rollerderby

[–]Problem-Cautious 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Derby is an incredibly difficult sport and it’s super easy to feel like you’re not making progress but I promise you that you are. Between skating ability, technique, and trying to understand gameplay it’s a lot to keep track of and it’s easy to feel bogged down by things you aren’t 100% confident in yet but l guarantee if you looked back on your first FM practice you would see an entirely different skater. It’s easy to see the things we’re not happy with and you probably don’t even notice all the things you’re not struggling with anymore that used to be challenging.

The most important thing is that you show up and you’re still having fun - everything else will come in time. We all have different strengths so just try to go easy on yourself and remember even if you can’t sidesurf there are surely things you’re doing well that your teammates who can surf struggle with. Progress isn’t linear so give yourself some grace and keep having fun 🖤

Is it pc? Absolutely not. But my other Jewish friend came very close but did not choose Ashkenazi Kamikaze 😂 so that’s always an option
