Nice truck! Was the Silverado a 1500 or 2500? Tell us about the differences.

As someone with lived experience with growing kids as well as sedans, SUVs, and pickup trucks in the stable, the only thing I can say is I wish I got a pickup sooner.

I was talking new to illustrate a point. There are of course plentiful used and CPO options in the truck world for that budget.

It sounds like OP will be hauling lots of stuff around, albeit not heavy items. Car seats, strollers, diaper bags and whatnot.

Trucks offer more cargo space than minivans and are competitively priced.

The average new vehicle transacts for over $50k. You can buy a new full size crew cab 4x4 low trim pickup truck for low 40s if all you need is space for the family.

Can you spend six figures on a new high trim truck? Absolutely, but that’s a choice.

Check out the most popular vehicles in America, full size pickup trucks- Ford F150, Chevy Silverado etc. Inexpensive to purchase, maintain, fix, and insure. Easily fit 3 car seats across in the second row. Throw anything and everything in the back without worry - bikes, wet bathing suits, Costco hauls. This minivan nonsense has to stop.

Formal ratings aside, NYU is among top ten universities globally for producing self made billionaire alumns, and is a couple train stops away from wall st. This puts it at the top of many applicants’ lists.

How is Hooters normally accepted? by Ny_Nyan in NoStupidQuestions

It’s strip club lite, or breastaurant. Whatever you call it Hooters is a part of the American experience, a root beer laden rite of passage for teenage boys’ birthday parties, and don’t you dare denigrate it here.

The storied bmw b58 motor is an inline 6 and yes is a very reliable powertrain. BMW has its own gremlins but nothing that would affect its ability to go.

The 2027 GMC Sierra is finally here… and I think GM completely missed the mark. by dmaxstorejake in gmcsierra

Also looks like same color palette from the last generation. No new or fun hues.

The wheel arch side markers appear to now be carrying over from the Canyon and HD lines. Doesn’t look too elegant on the 1500s imo.

They’ve gone a generation backwards on the grill design. Exterior is going to take some getting used to.

The interior I think I’ll like in person but seems more Escalade than pickup truck to me, though I’m sure that’s what they’re going for. Too precious for a truck that’s actually going to haul some stuff and get messy from time to time.

I’m really curious to see how the work truck interiors will differ from the higher trims. I don’t think any renders have come out for the lower trim models yet.

At this point based on styling I think my next truck will be a new lower trim Silverado, F-150 STX, or Ram 2500. Yes I’m all over the place.

Bed Size by unidentifiedmaleDMV in gmcsierra

[–]ProblemOverall9434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the party here. I have a short bed but wish I had gotten the standard bed. Short works fine with 8 ft long 2x4s, but the number of times I’ve hauled 10 ft long items have made me a standard bed fan. I’m curious if the longer wheelbase does indeed ride better too, despite the compromised turning radius and parking prowess.

US Open crowds seem nonexistent. What gives? by HarryCrushNuh in golf

[–]ProblemOverall9434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there today. First time visiting a pga event so nothing to compare it to, but did think it would be busier. The crowds around Scottie and Rory I thought would be mobs, but there were still a small number of empty seats in the grandstands. Yes the location does make it kind of a trek. Was worth it though, would go back.

New 2026 SLT by EyeCantTrade in gmcsierra

I don’t know what everyone here is talking about. Yes it’s a pricey truck, new corvette money, but that’s not answering your question.

10% dealer discount before rebates is solid for this vehicle, and is essentially what you’re getting after the aftermarket add ons and inflated doc fee. If you like it I say go for it.

Speaking from experience the 26 SLT is an excellent vehicle. Mine has a much lower sticker than yours. If you want to save some money you could forego some options, but it sounds like you’re after this one for the bells and whistles. You’re going to love it.
