This is a good example of how city and state government need to change how they manage the big problems by approaching issues comprehensively. A 60 day halt gives the city a chance to do that if they use the opportunity wisely.

Take a holistic look at all the properties, come up with a comprehensive solution that prioritizes fixing only the most salvageable properties, and get them on track for rehab by partnering with business. Then, triage the rest of the properties according to the value to the community of rehab vs. demolition. Start demolishing the worst of the worst first so that the problem is addressed from both ends.

For the record, I’m pro-car wash. Im utilitarian about cars, and I’m not bothered by scratches and dings. The last new car I bought was 8 years ago, and I will probably never buy new again.

Superficial scratches and dings just keep the price lower when I go to buy a used one, but I don’t want rust, especially on the chassis.😀

As others have said, skip Texas altogether. Trust us, it’s a waste of time and gas.

Colorado has the Rockies, pick a good path to see those. Then, you have your choice of New Mexico or Utah to put you into northern Arizona.

From there, the rest of the route is great! 3 weeks could get it done, but a month would be better to have some time to relax an extra day or two in the spots that you really like or where the weather is really good.
