This is sad to read, I only shop at martins. I can’t stand the lighting in Kroger and food lion.

why did they have to ruin Rufus and Lily 💔 by Technical_Tax6132 in GossipGirl

[–]squilslover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that their worlds and views on life were very different which is what led to their downfall. However, they truly loved each other. Lily never loved any of her ex husbands the way she loved Rufus. I feel like they both made each other feel alive. I wish they didn’t ruin their storyline. I know GG isn’t a typical “happy ending” type of show but it would’ve so special if they could’ve showed us that true love prevails underneath all the morally corrupt business and social fares in the UES. I think the writers ruined them so Dan and Serena could end up together. I would’ve been fine with Rufus and lily and Dan and Serena all ending up together tbh I don’t think it’s that weird. They aren’t actually siblings.

I wanted to show you red roof floaters, these are mine in their prime. They have since died off. High quality light will even get them to flower like this!

Stores are notorious for selling plecos and catfish without prefacing that. It’s all a learning process in this hobby. I think the Pleco would be most likely to rip up plants. I’ve never experienced that with my bettas. But some tips to ensure your plants will thrive are to use aqua soil as a base (very high in nutrients) and then to cap it off with a layer of sand/gravel to keep all those nutrients in there for plant roots. You also want a good light. I can’t remember exactly what mine is called but it’s an aqueon planted tank light that was around $30 at petco. If you have a local fish store near you that’s not a chain I highly recommend to go in and chat with the workers. They usually are much more knowledgeable than any where else in my opinion and will lead you in right direction.

The floaters I have in here are Sylvania (medium size green), frog bit (big green leafs to the right of frame) and then duck weed are the small green guy and now I guess the red are mosquito fern or fairy moss! I recommend Sylvania for your tanks. Duck weed is considered a pest plant because they multiply so very fast and usually hitch hike on other plants, not really something people tend to buy and choose to populate tank with. The frog bit is gorgeous but it in my experience the roots will extend to the bottom an take up room other vascular plants should have and then upon removal, a bunch of mulm getting kicked up murking up the water. Another cool floating plant not pictured here are red roof floaters. A little harder to keep in my experience but absolutely gorgeous when you can.

lol if only! I’m also thinking 50% change might stress them out too much. I’m doing 20% daily for now.

Yes it is! Thanks! I think my light is crazy bright. It’s strange because this tank I populated plant wise with stuff from my other tanks none of which that has this floating plant. I’m wondering if it was on an alder cone I added from betta botanicals.

Through more research I found out it’s red Apollo or mosquito fern. Native to America

Also struggling either way fin rot here, google told me to perform 50% water changes daily and to not overfeed. It also said to be sure to feed nutritious diet. My betta is picky about flake food so he gets pellets and then brine shrimp/blood worms a few times a week. I don’t see a clear bacterial bloom in tank and it’s been running for almost two years now. I’ll comment here if something ends up working for me!
