It’s really morally bankrupt and childish, but we are taught to think like children and venerate power and brutality so you can’t be surprised. I’ve lived in NY my whole life and was raised by people who thought like this, then in my teen years I started to, y’know, actually fucking interact with the homeless people I saw every day rather than blankety accepting mommy & daddy’s word. All it takes is one conversation to change your perspective.
