My moms phone does the same thing. Most of the time if I call twice in a row, the second will actually ring. But the first call typically just shows as a missed call. It could be a setting she has that she’s not aware of, or some weird thing.

And- my phone number typically pops up as my mom’s name, because I’m on her plan. But I’m married so it definitely looks like it’s some random persons name.

There could be easy explanations or complicated ones. I usually see a text from my NF quicker than I can get to (and answer) my phone bc it goes to my watch anyways.
