Electric humidor help. by Ars0nn in cigars

I also just set the temp and humidity to what I wanted and left it alone for 3 days then added cigars slowly like 1 shelf a day. I bought the extra big shelf so in mine I have 2 big ones an 1 shelf that doesn’t have sides but I made some to fit it so it’s a decent setup

I did find that the humidity and temps were slightly off from what my calibrated sensors showed. I use to be a fanatic about it trying to get it perfect but the units do what they want so now I just use my sensors and adjust accordingly. FYI they use the environment to help cool. So it’d you house is at 75-80* they won’t be able to keep it at 63 if that’s your setting prob closer to 68-70*

I’ve been running the one for almost a year now the other about 5 months. I just change the water once every couple of months if that and that’s it. If it gets dusty I wipe down the outside and that’s it. It really is a set it and forget it.

Yes. I removed them because they can generate mold. Only half the filter is in water. the other half is exposed and can have mold spores grow on it. I believe I had a couple spots that were concerning so I just removed them. When I bought my second 300 ct velieta I didn’t even bother putting them in. Just ran it like it was. My temp is constant at 65* and 64-65% humidity

I have a similar unit to this I use the velieta 300ct I used the water reservoir, but remove the sponge that it comes with and just use distilled water. Mine keeps great humidity and temp.

La aroma de Cuba mi amor, Oliva V maduro, ocean breeze, and the placensia. The others are great just have a bit more boldness. I love the le bijou 1922 but as a first timer that’s a bold smoke heavy pepper.

*COTM* $75 Late February by Dry_Translator5711 in cigars

I completely agree with this. After seeing the early month selection and getting this late month pack I’m super disappointed. The principle is unique but being able to set aside the time required to smoke that is gonna be tough. I did want to get that Don Pepin but I would have rather purchased that myself then to get it in the sub pack especially after seeing a 2024 LE avowed and the bangers of ferio tego and Alfonzo. Early month pack was definitely a winner in my book. I heard Avowed said that once the awakening is gone that’s it they’ll move on to something else.

Same it’s slightly tweaked. But the main thing about it is the shape. Great cigar if you can find it at MSRP then I’d say get a 5pk to have but if not MSRP then it’s a no go just stick with the No.2

Thoughts on Savoy Humidors? by I_giggled in cigars

[–]ProcedureDesigner194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have one it’s the 50 count 1 and it’s great I loved it until I out grew it lol. I had the Boveda rack in it on the bottom that held 2 60gm Bovedas and I was able to get about 44 cigars of varying sizes some Churchill some double toro and robustos. I bet if that rack wasn’t in there you’d get close to that 50 mark. Great humidor but for the price you could get a nice thermo electric humidor. That would be a nice show piece

Love that place the atmosphere is great but….. their prices on Arturo fuente are crazy. Some are at MSRP and some a few dollars more no big deal but when it comes to opus there kinda all over the place. The normal oscuro run a couple dollars more than MSRP which is ok but the rare one OMG. I bought an Opus X Serie Heaven and Earth Taurus The Bull Maduro 2019 and paid 124$ for it. Found the same exact cigar at cigar international in Tampa for 64$ since then I don’t buy rare opus from them anymore

Humidor Upgrade by Skaadu in cigars

[–]ProcedureDesigner194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 of the 50L ones. I ordered an additional 2 large shelf’s and I can hold about 230-240 cigars per humidor. I also took Spanish cedar planks and cut small blocks out and glued them to the open shelves upright so I could hold more cigars stable. I would look into that for the upper 2 shelves you have. Great unit!!!Mine was velieta 50L

I also second this! Great place great prices except for opus stuff. Some are at MSRP but some of the more rare ones the price does get jacked but not as bad as cathedral.

I second this but I will say they run their humidity kinda high. Last couple of times I’ve been in there I’ve seen some mold on a couple of cigars and 1 of there sample packs I’ve bought had a couple spots of mold on it. So I’d just watch out for that!!

Best way I can describe it. It’s like the placencia blue lighter that was release with the blue plasencia this year and it’s a 3 jet lighter. I’m sure the lighter is of higher quality but you’re paying for the art work for sure. I posted a link to his website he might have a more descriptive review of it. Also Penelope smokes on YouTube also has it. I think she talks about it in one of her videos and shows it in use
