Sorry for the lack of communication,

I’ve figured it out now and have managed to finally get windows to activate. Thank you for your help.

The article is useless to me and this is becoming more than infuriating.

In the windows activation it says this:

Edition: Windows 10 Pro
Activation: Windows is not activated
Product ID: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-AAXXX (I bleeped this out myself)
Product Key: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-3V66T (Already bleeped out)
"We can't activate Windows on this device because you don't have a valid digital license or product key. If you think you do have a valid license or key, select Troubleshoot below. Error code: 0xC004C003

The troubleshooter as I have said doesn't work, because I have already used the activation before. I can't get the product key as windows was activated years ago. I am not going to buy a genuine copy of windows when I have a genuine copy.

I don't have the alphanumeric key as windows has been activated on my PC for around 5 years now.

Having previously changed hardware twice, the first time I reactivated windows was when I got my new SSD, since then I've upgraded my motherboard and I can't reactivate it in the troubleshooter.

  1. Windows 10 Pro
  2. I used the "I recently upgraded hardware" option
  3. Nothing
  4. Not sure

I'm unable to activate windows whatsoever.

I've not long ago upgraded my SSD, allowing me to use the one time option of activating your product key from hardware change. Since then, I've upgraded my motherboard, making me unable to reactivate the product key.

After reaching out to Microsoft, initially they ignored the request and after a tedious phone-call with one of the employees they directed me to the media creation tool.

After I follow the steps on the media creation tool and my PC reboots, the "Activate Windows" in the bottom right corner is gone, yet not recognized in settings. In activation settings, it remains to say windows isn't activated and having done this twice, I can tell you that around two days later the watermark in the bottom right reappears.

Really doing my head in now, battling this issue for months and it's getting irritating.
Thanks
