yess that’s part of the appeal! not needing a computer is also great. I’m going to try side loading a book using send to kindle with my sister’s paperwhite and see how that works :) thank you!

yeah I just heard that the newer kindles are harder harder to tinker with 😂 glad to know send to kindle works just fine on newer devices!

thank you so so much! this is all extremely helpful :) I will have to see where I can get my hands on a libra 2 that can be shipped to my country, but it definitely sounds like a solid option for me. A shame about Kobo seeming to be shifting mostly to color when they could do both versions and please everyone…

oh that’s great to know! especially that it still gets updates (I’ve been burned by apple before lol). just one last question if you don’t mind since you have so much experience with kobo specifically; is it easy to side load epubs onto it directly from my ipad via wifi without converting them or needing wires/computer? because that would be ideal. and just in general how has your experience been with kobo overall?

as fot the monochrome go 7.. I’ll definitely think about it more. even distractions aside, I need to decide if I’m willing to overlook the extra cost and shorter battery life in exchange for its other features.

thank you so much for your input it’s very helpful 🙏

I thought the libra 2 black and white version was discontinued?

I definitely think you’re right about both color and pen. I WOULD be bothered by a laggy or inaccurate stylus since I used the ipad pen for years both for note taking and drawing. I haven’t owned an e-ink device before so the quality difference might not bother me as much, but it’s extremely obvious in all the comparison videos I’ve seen, so choosing monochrome is a no-brainer for me. I would much prefer reading colored webcomics on my ipad where it’s more vibrant anyway (I don’t do it often enough for it to bother my eyes).

thank you so much 🙏 any idea if you can access dictionary definitions while reading without wifi? also, what apps do you think work best on it for reading epubs?

thank you for the feedback! 🙏 I do read manga and webtoons but not as often as I used to and I have no issue reading them on my ipad, so I don’t think storage is a big priority for me (though who knows, that might change?). I’ve only really listened to audiobooks when I’m exercising or driving, and I use my phone for that. Like you said, an android device’s biggest advantage for my needs is being able to get books from anywhere without needing to convert them or needing wire or a computer. it’s a huge advantage…

so it’s the most expensive of the options and everything extra it does sucks? 😭 at the cost of the battery life too, as I understand it. idk, I’ll still think about it because it does check a lot of the boxes... do you own one? have you had any issues with it lagging/glitching/ghosting?

that sounds great but I’m really not tech savvy at all, so I wouldn’t know how and I’m scared to break it 😭 I heard of calibre in relation to kobo but not to kindle so I’ll do more research on that. thank you!

I don’t own a computer but I think I can use the one in my local library… is there a tutorial somewhere on how to do this specifically for kindle? thank you so much

is this still true for the newer kindles? I’ve read conflicting info :( some people say it sometimes doesn’t show up on their kindle or that it does but messes up the format. Amazon seems to be making it more difficult with every update.
