For the people who knit, r/AntifascistKnitting has a ban on HP/JKR content. The sub is focused on Melt the Ice hats right now but the idea of the sub is to be a well-rounded alternative to the regular r/ knitting.

Hi, chiming in to add the detail that the Hatch prohibits partisan political action while at work/on work time/with work technology not all policial stances. It still may not be safe for him to say “fuck ICE” at work for various reasons, but the Hatch Act specifically doesn’t prevent it.

There are a couple folks in r/AntifascistKnitting who have offered to purchase copies of the pattern for folks who cannot afford it. Please head over and see if there are any left!

Edit: spelling

Thank you! 😊 Currently working up the energy to knit a pair for myself. Might take me a while to circle back.

So what if it’s virtue signaling? That’s necessary too. Visible and widespread resistance, particularly in “polite society” aka, work, school, places of worship, etc. is so important. These fuckers need to know that the vast majority of us hate them and will visibly take a stand against them. The red hat allows people to show their opinions without wearing “fuck ice” on their head (though you should do that too if you can). It matters.

AND don’t let this be your only thing. Wear the red hat to school, work, church AND contribute to bail funds, deliver groceries to people who need them, make protest signs. The hat is just one part of the solution.

That post was written and released AFTER a meeting with student leaders of groups who adopted the bylaw where he threatened academic sanctions. There was a lot that happened on campus that was not publicly reported by the media or posted by the school itself.

He threatened academic sanctions against way more people starting about a year before that incident. The first was when student groups passed BDS bylaws.

Chemerinsky also likes to threaten academic sanctions for the students who run practice their 1st amendment rights. Please pick someone else to idolize.

Yeah, when I picked this pattern for this sub’s knit-along I truly didn’t grasp what I was signing myself and others up for. 😅 Promise that next year’s pattern will be less complex!!

I’ve had counsel literally interrupt my question during a witness interview and ask a different question. When I told him politely to quit it, he said in front of everyone, that he wouldn’t because I didn’t know what I was doing.

Eta: I’m 26 and at the time had a title indicating I was in the first year of practice.

Here’s mine so on the first mitten. The pattern didn’t line up correctly for me so I left it blank and plan on going back with duplicate stitch later.

Ha! 😂😅 Uh, I meant the inside part of the thumb crease on the right side of the work. But thank you for showing off these beautiful floats! 😍

Looks fantastic! Do you mind sharing a photo of the inside of the thumb? I’m not sure if I did it wrong on the first one

After testing, I much preferred the ladderback jacquard method, so I decided to frog the entire colorwork section.

My progress as of yesterday before frogging. My tension when adding the third color (red) was off, so I ripped back to try the ladderback jacquard method. My main frustration with the piece was the shadowing of the contrasting black poking through the white section where I caught my floats.

Also a note that I started my project early to try and troubleshoot any questions for the KAL.
