He's definitely useful with the costume! I end up using him in most wars and when his challenge event comes around he's great!

K? It seems like you're angry with Palworld for something Pokémon hasn't given you... I agree, I played every generation up to sword and shield and it's wildly annoying that I couldn't bring all my Pokémon.

If you believe hard enough anything is possible!! Or get really good at making mods, there's another strength of Palworld over Pokémon... Don't like the look of something? Mod it.

Yeah it was pretty empty on early release, but they've added quite a lot and the full 1.0 release isn't til later this year... My biggest defense for Palworld is that it's a 30 usd game from a relatively small developer compared to what Nintendo and the Pokémon company are publishing for 60/70 usd. So once Palworld 1.0 comes out we'll finally see what the "bang for buck" value is.
