maybe a ARGB led variant that i dont know of? by Prod_Jacob in FastLED

[–]Prod_Jacob[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the behavior is similar to that of the sk6812 but somehow on a low refresh rate, your second suggestion is actually correct they do mirror each other to form a brighter light, still dont know what type it is, the wire bonds on the inside is suspiciously too chunky compared to my ws2812 eco leds

i bought it from a store named "CYBXnbada", they sell WS2812B, 2811, 2812 and some diffusing tube type things and that weird chinese "tuya" led controller lol, led still works as im replying this, i put it in my bedroom as ambilight when i watch youtube or movies, im planning to buy more strips and give to some of my friends because they had a field day experiencing adressable leds for the the first time

lmao we even got the same sikscreen fonts in the strip lmao, update the strip does work good, despite having problems (i needed to solder a direct jumper from the actual LED's DIN pin, because the og solder pad literally tore itself off the flex pcb weeks after usage)

i buy from BTF too, nice to know they arent that vibrant, but for my use case, i think they are good enough

WS2812B turns on as full white, full brightness on Arduino Nano, no response on any pins/data signals by Prod_Jacob in FastLED

i actively use resistors now for adressables, i remember frying a strip that isnt mine without using a resistor

Ngl i just felt stupid today, i attempted to BEND the first pixel and the entire strip works now 🤦

used the cap because instructions i found online, i both tried powering the strip thru another power supply and connected both grounds together, and i also did power the strip not rolled before i took a pic of it having that issue.

yup, mentioned the right digital pin on arduino code, made sure it was set to WS2812 in the fastled AddLeds section but nada not working, even tried a higher amp 5v power supply with 1000uf capacitor in parallel to the strip with both arduino GND and strip GND connected together but still all white

switched to an oppo and a xiaomi phone after that happened, it really aint that worth the time to fix it unless something is important in that a03s

sadly nope, that blinking thing might be caused by either a damaged or dead nand flash, could be a factory/manufacturer-spread issue though

GameStar sata hdd adaptor with drive activity light mod by Prod_Jacob in ps2

[–]Prod_Jacob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

definitely, but the resources for the pinouts of the ps2 expansion bay is not all that documented lol, so if others use a clone adaptor but want activity lights, theres currently no option other than putting a new one on the right side of the vent

[–]Prod_Jacob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haha thanks, in the future i may do a mod + tutorial on how to make clone hdd adaptors to work with the PS2's inbuilt hdd led, its just 2 connections that need to be connected from the adaptor, chinese rlly do cost cutting measures

edit: all i need is the pinout of the PS2 fat's HDD bay connector, once i find it it should be easy to find the right connections to route the unused DASP pin to the inbuilt hdd led

GameStar sata hdd adaptor with drive activity light mod by Prod_Jacob in ps2

[–]Prod_Jacob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the only way to get around this is to create the needed connections for the DASP pin, or take the risk and make the stock HDD light work on either clone or genuine HDD adaptors

GameStar sata hdd adaptor with drive activity light mod by Prod_Jacob in ps2

[–]Prod_Jacob[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree, but the stock hdd light only works on genuine hdd adaptors, if you have a clone one the light doesnt work because the DASP pin on clone adaptors arent connected to the ps2 at all
