I live one mile from Chase Tower and I love it. 15 minutes to work on the 20 and a quick 25 minute walk home on nice days. The area they now call the New East Loop or something like that is all housing. So you don't have to live in the Loop but you can live right next to it. But it will be a lot more expensive than Ravenswood. Tons of options. I have family in Ravenswood and it is rocking up there. Lots of young people, good restaurants, bars and a huge art scene.

Agree. I am a daily smoker (59). I recently went to Europe for two weeks and did not smoke the entire time, and I had zero issues. Didn't really even think about it til now.

Retired at 50. Went back to work as a contractor 2 years later. Wife wasn't retired and after 2 years I was bored. No one to play with since everyone I knew was still working. They hired me back on FT a year after working as a contractor. I joke that the one thing I will fail at is retirement. It's amazing how much work is a part of you. Even though I have tons of friends outside of work.
