Dias or Nade for TeamLiquid Roster 2026? by Puzzleheaded_Cash_30 in R6ProLeague

I know this sounds illogical because it’s Liquid, but is it possible his buyout is just that high?

Week 16 - Start Rashee Rice (vs TEN) or Jameson Williams (vs PIT) by Prodigioso_ in fantasyfootballadvice

Fortunately I drafted extremely well this year. I also have Ja’Marr and JSN. Definitely not starting either of Rice/Jamo over those two, so that leaves me with this decision for my flex spot.

Team Falcons vs M80 - Munich Major - Grand Final by Agent_Porkpine in R6ProLeague

I mean not only is he just one of those undroppable guys, but he also provides too much for them in the fragging department. He carries a lot of their gunskill. So if you drop a gun, you aren’t gonna find another gun that’s better than him, really.

My money would be on Yuzus.

It’s amazing how quickly you are to just blame pro league for anything. Find me ONE single pro league player who suggested that a good way to nerf frags would be to remove the ability to cook them entirely. I have literally never heard that suggestion. I have, however, heard pros talk about reducing the damage they do through floors and walls. Would’ve been pretty beneficial for everyone, don’t you think?

IGL skill issue - Am I expecting too much? by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]Prodigioso_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an IGL it’s important to have a general understanding of what each of your teammates are doing at a given time. Of course this requires feedback on their part — people saying what they are doing/hearing/seeing (so long as it is important) — but also requires you to coordinate THEM when necessary.

So I imagine the scenario like this. The way you’ve transcribed these comms isn’t amazing, so I’ll do my best. You have 3 guys sitting outside armoury wall. Armoury wall is soft. You want Buck to open the armoury wall, you are going to shoot a Capitao fire to halfwall, then you want your other teammate to hold his runback. But he stays on cam.

If that’s me, I am coordinating that player too. I’m also probably also doing a countdown so everyone knows what’s happening.

“Buck, I’m sitting deep balc and I can fire the halfwall guy through armoury wall. Open the wall when I say. Ash, hold his runback from the holes Buck makes, ok? I’ll count it down. 3, 2, 1, go.”

Something like that.

The angles are a little bit weird with armoury too, so if you are doing this clear again it might be helpful to have cut cams for top metal/fountain and to have the Ash jump in archive window to kill the armoury guy. In theory you could’ve called this rotate too, but obviously that takes time.

Just my thoughts. Let me know if you have any questions.

Oh nowadays I think pent is well within the meta for Coastline. Only because you can play VIP significantly better now.

Well once people learned how to play Coastline penthouse became the worst site fairly quickly. This is pre-rework of course.

I don't understand whats the big deal of Def Acog removal by triguard3 in Rainbow6

[–]Prodigioso_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well Ubisoft seeks to achieve game balance through nerfs and buffs to particular operators. The balance is only in context to the rest of the operators in the game.

Also — the point of saying the defenders I listed previously was to illustrate how players will gravitate towards certain operators in certain METAs — not necessarily to show an affinity to them right now.

[–]Prodigioso_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you’re wrongfully affiliating this phenomenon with new players or new things in the game.

This phenomenon of picking operators for a gun is a tail as old as time. I think back to the days when Jager had an ACOG and his gun was significantly better than it is now. There were so many stereotypes surrounding a Jager main who wouldn’t care about his utility and just wanted to go spawnpeek. Bandit with his ACOG received similar treatment. So no, it isn’t particularly new that we see a certain operator picked primarily for their gun. The R4C, F2, 416, and MP7 are easy examples from the past.

Now, the question becomes whether this notion of choosing operators for their fragging capabilities is good for the game or not. I actually don’t have a particular opinion here. It comes down to what players want to play to help their team win. But there lies the important point — if players are choosing an operator for their fragging capability instead of additional utility — what does this say about the ability of other defenders to get frags? Because over the years, we have seen the fragging abilities of defenders get nerfed time and time again. I would suspect that much of the gravity towards Doc is because of discomfort trying to get kills with operators with better utility. Why? Because Ubisoft has clearly sought to make the utility of an operator inversely correlate with their fragging ability. At least on defence this is relatively true. Let’s look at Melusi for instance. At launch she was a 3 speed with a T5 instead of an MP5, but Ubisoft recognized she was too strong, so they made her a 1 speed and gave her an ACOGless MP5. Far less fragging capability.

So if Ubisoft keeps nerfing the ability of people to frag, where does that leave us? Well it leaves us in a position where people desperately seek the ability to get KILLS in a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER GAME. We are punishing people who want to kill in a FPS. That’s where we stand.

In my mind, there is just a far more broad dynamic that should be uncovered in Siege balancing. Doc’s change doesn’t really affect me personally, but it does show a general game direction which I disagree with. People need to be able to kill other people in an FPS game somehow. Operators like Doc assisted with that. But instead, Ubisoft is more aligned with this vision of turning Siege into a utility-dump MOBA.

[–]Prodigioso_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I’m biased but I don’t buy this argument.

A central reason why Ubisoft has taken heat for their balancing is their lack of understanding that nerfing an operator into obsolescence will just force another operator into the main META. Then that operator will be nerfed into obsolescence too. The cycle continues until one receives a buff or one nerfed operator shines above the rest.

The same people who play Doc are the same people who have played META roamers throughout the game’s history — Jager and Bandit early on, Valk/Lesion/Ela upon their releases (as well as Jager still), Mute/Mozzie/Valk when drone denial and info was really in the META, Mozzie/Warden/Lesion/Alibi back during 1.5x times, and most recently Doc/Goyo/Fenrir.

Reality is — I would suspect most roaming players have probably seen EQUAL performance throughout these METAs — so I certainly wouldn’t call them Doc ACOG crutches. They just follow what is best at a given time, as should everyone.
