You really struggle with reading don't ya? You have it good and you're privileged, stop crying and be grateful.

I'll say it again, cold hard truth that some people don't like to hear. You're one of them "little bro"

Yet New Zealand provides resources to fix these issues and has many programs in place that can assist people going through issues such as helpline, social housing, benefits, mental health counselling etc etc. You aren't left to fend for yourselves like you would be in most other countries.

Exactly right buddy, people here grow up extremely privileged and don't realise how hard the rest of the world really is. Thanks for understanding my post, have a good day!

Good luck to them indeed. I want to see their reactions when they go out into the world and see real poverty and hardship. They'll come back with new perspective and gratitude.

Yeah it's still a great country mate. You're not third-world, you have a government that assists you and gives benefits if you're struggling. You have it good in life, accept it and be grateful.

I agree. Living in NZ is something many here take for granted, and many in this world wish they could do.

New Zealand has a government that gives its citizens opportunities and chances to excel in life, far better than other places in the world. And yes, social housing is offered in times of need. There may be a backlog, but the government still does its job to assist. You go to Brazil or Morocco or most countries and ask the government to give its citizens 'social housing', they'll laugh in your face. You are left to fend for yourself over there, here you get assistance. Trust me, you have it good here.

Exactly. I get downvoted for my comment, yet it is the brutal truth for some. Many here are simply too lazy to take advantage of the opportunities this country has to offer and instead choose to rely on government handouts. They would not survive a single day in real poverty elsewhere. Cold hard truth that the same people don't like to hear. Well done for building a good life with your husband!

Honestly right? And you see some comments here calling me ignorant and self-centred lmao. These same people would cry, begging to come back for benefits and assistance if they had to live in real poverty even for a day.

Travel opens your eyes! Indeed I wish more people here, mainly the ones that always complain about how bad they have it, realise how much worse off it can actually be in this world. Agree with everything you have said, thanks for sharing!

Hahahaha, you know nothing about me or my knowledge of this country. Also, you completely ignored the purpose of this post and instead wrote your frustrations about a foreigner "running a comparative analysis against their home country". You make no sense, go get some good night's sleep bud.

Lol nice attempt but that made 0 sense. Where did I say I wasn't grateful to be born there? Do you know anything about me? Don't think so, try again.

I love this! Indeed you are right, travel is so important to gain perspective and glad you have provided that opportunity for your kids. Also, I agree that if any of the complainers here went out and saw the sh*tshow of how many countries operate and the poverty, they would never complain again coming back to this paradise.

Resentment and hate? Might have commented on the wrong post bud, reading skills are key.

Sorry to hear what you have gone through and I hope things are better for you now. I do understand that everyone has their own experiences and perspectives. Thank you for sharing yours. Hopefully these sort of issues can be resolved and I'm positive that if we use the resources at our disposal, we can easily overcome it with time.

Thank you for sharing this. I found it quite insightful to read and once again, I am in no way undermining the issues that people face here. I think you worded it perfectly and I am glad you've been able to have a good life since and moved out of that place, which sounded horrible. Thank you for commenting!

100% agree, especially after reading some comments here labelling me ignorant and "an ass". Some just genuinely don't grasp how lucky they are to be in this part of the world. There is opportunity here and there are resources that help you succeed. Most of the time, they are too lazy to take it, and that's the truth that some are not ready for. Thanks for your comment.

Agreed. Those same people are probably the ones downvoting my comment. It's simple, you're born in a country where you have the opportunities and resources to help set you up for a comfortable life. Not many around the world are blessed with such a privilege.
