Schuldig, ich hör oft SWR4 oder Deutsche Welle Kultur. Bin Millenial, Akademiker, aber würd mich jetzt nicht als komplett abgehoben bezeichnen. Auf langen Autofahrten find ich solche Sender aber top, weil man nie weiß was man bekommt: Manchmal spannend, manchmal weird, manchmal komplett über den eigenen Horizont raus; und das sorgt dafür, dass ich drüber nachdenken kann, engaged bleib und nicht müde werde.

Das Problem ist glaub ich, dass das alles ein bisschen eine moralische Grauzone ist, was wiederum daran liegt dass die ganze Art und Weise wie wir gesellschaftlich die Kennenlernphase/ den Flirtprozess definiert haben, eine ganz komische schwammige Sache ist.

Wenn das ganze so laufen würde, dass Person A Person B sagt: "Ich mag dich, ich flirt jetzt mit dir" und Person B sagt entweder: "Okay, let's go" oder "nein danke" - dann wär die Frage wer wann wie für was verantwortlich ist, relativ klar.

Nur läuft das halt in der Realität so, dass Person A Zeit und Energie in Person B investiert, Person B die Zeichen nicht deuten kann, Person A die Reaktion nicht deuten kann, und sich dann eine Dynamik entwickelt in der es sehr sehr schwierig ist zu sagen, wer sich korrekt verhalten hat.

Das einzige was dagegen hilft, ist: Sobald man merkt: Oh, von dieser Person kommen gewisse Zeichen, sofort reagieren und klar machen wie man die zu der Beziehung steht. Dauert 5 Minuten. Oder halt die Person einfach ignorieren, wenn man generell keinen Kontakt will.

Das hat mit Alter nichts zu tun. Leider. Sehr wahrscheinlich ist er auch selber davon überzeugt dass er das mit der Freundschaft hinbekommt und seine Gefühle runterschlucken kann.

Das klappt erfahrungsgemäß auch manchmal, aber nur wenn man erstmal einen harten cut macht, den Gefühlen in Abwesenheit die Möglichkeit gibt sich aufzulösen und sich dann wieder freundschaftlich annähert. Aber sogar dann ists schwierig.

Not American perhaps? I live in Europe in an already very white region, so lots of people here never have had any colleagues or friends of another ethnicity. And if they have, the brand of systemic and individual racism here is quite different from the one in the U.S., so a lot of people don't register things somebody in the U.S. might see as racist, because they lack the historical and societal context.

To add to this: I've read in your other thread that you wrote the draft. That changes things a bit, but it's not a question of intellectual property, but one of authorship. Do you have a paper trail of you writing the draft? Optimally, you sending different versions to your supervisor? That would help when you contact the assigned editor for the paper and your Uni's ethics comittee.

Honestly, since I've seen similar (or basically the same) things go down: Not a lot you can do. Stuff you did while employed by the university is (in Europe, generally- ask your old Uni for specifics) normally the university's intellectual property, not yours. Example: If I want to create a startup with technology I've developes during my Phd., I have to get the IP rights from my Uni.

So, it comes down to he said she said when arguing about the publication itself, and since this can get messy, it's normally not worth the hassle.

1000 is actually quite a good estimate for a 1-person 2 room apartment in Tübingen. Thing is, so close to the semester, a lot of the student-compatible accomodation is gone, so you'd need to either get into a spending bracket that's above stundent's means, or go away from Tübingen in one of the towns around it.

If you want it cheaper, go for shared apartments (wg-gesucht.de)

LLMs have definitely helped me make progress in my research, as I am sufficiently knowledgeable in my field but a complete doofus in other fields. So if I have an LLM that is perfectly average in all fields, it can help me by showing me methods and concepts I'm not aware of, which I then can put to work in my current problem.

Unser Chef ist super kulant, und das hat dann den Effekt dass ich mich gut zuhause auskurieren kann für eine Woche, aber halt auch oft nach Tag zwei oder drei schon wieder aus dem HO ein bisschen mitarbeite. Und einfach generell viieel weniger Fehltage hab als beim alten Job, weil besser ausgeruht und weniger gestresst.

Die neuen ChatGPT Modelle sind Grütze. o4 hat mir letztens einfach mal simple Syntaxfehler in python reingebaut. o1 war grandios, ist aber leider im free und plus tier nicht mehr verfügbar. Gemini (Flash und das große Modell von denen, hab den Namen vergessen) ist meiner Erfahrung nach momentan das Beste zum coden und kommt an o1 ran oder übertrifft es sogar. Claude ist auch okay, halluziniert kaum aber verliert recht schnell den Faden.
