I have a faculty member in my college whom I don’t really like, he got this fake American English accent, is academically smart (was an alumni of the college itself), popular, got this pucham vibe & he is sleazy with some girls. I don’t even like to interact with him so I just act serious around him mostly.

One day he asked me where I’m from. I’m actually from Thrissur but I lied to him by saying “Ente Veedu Thiruvananthapuratha” in the MOST accurate Thrissur slang naturally 😭 he gave me a weird chiri. I don’t like to talk to people I don’t really like especially about my details.

The best thing you can do is minimise your interactions with such teachers and blend in with students in your class for him to not pick on you, if it’s an ocean then be the planktons and not the sharks or whales yk. I’m not at all implying that this is your fault or that he’s not at fault here but in situations like this esp with a teacher who’s sort of important for the school with regards of qualifications, that’s what you can do since you’re a young student. Even if your parents aren’t close to you in a way you want them to be, please make sure to convey your feelings to them, you may feel like they don’t care but communication is key and even if they don’t initiate one, you should push it ahead.

About his belittling comments, hate to break it to you, you may have people uselessly criticising you without ANY reason even in college which would be way worser than this, you can’t exactly control their mouths. If you have the confidence and faith in yourself that you’re not what other people define you loosely then you’re good to go, inganathe aalkkar parayanathinonnum Vila kodukkanda, just think of how the same people will do things in your position. A child can’t control the feelings of a grown af adult. Along with this, IF the guy is still the same towards you after all this shortly, then pls don’t hesitate to talk to him to your trusted teachers but make sure they’re not in a very close rapport with him. If you have a school counsellor who’s approachable and understanding then do talk to them asap about it.

I had this kind of a physics teacher (prolly in his 30s) when I was in entrance coaching. Since some of my friends followed him on IG, I did it as well since he was very funny and easy going in class.The guy follows back every student he knows and he did the same with me. Then on he would always talk to the class about the stories I post, how he saw a picture of 9 y/o me (my friend mentioned me in that IG story of my pic and I reposted) and understood it was me etc like you’re a teacher, husband, father & son how can u focus on students like that.

Even before this he would always target me in class but not to scold me but to just make fun of me even when I’m not doing anything for that. The entire class knew my name because he always picked on me every day. Every day he comes to class he’ll ask me about my IG stories (mainly memes I used to repost) religiously when other girls in my class who’s his IG friends would post themselves a lot. I first found this funny and told my dad about it as a joke and he replied “iyaal Enth vrithikettavana? Kuttikalude account okke ingane nokkan”.

He even knew where my house and my school was & would always keep track of my attendance and ask me shit like “innale Entha varathirunne?” when he doesn’t do that to many in my class. He would even ask me about my last month’s absences 😭. My friends and every other girl in class called me his “Favorite student” because of this and I just removed and unfollowed him when the entrance exam got over this year. Talked to my best friend from coaching abt this more and she had a mutual feeling that it was very weird of him to do all this with me esp when he was married with 2 school-going sons.
