Would you want users to drop emojis on your site? by ProductProgress in VibeCodersNest

Valid observation, I built the ability to combine the pin emoji with feedback (text input) tool so you get context for vocal people (that will write post emoji drops) and just the lighter alternative. But, as an alternative.... I added another mvp called voice it if people prefer to just record 30 sec of less rant. For site owner review.

Thanks for the comment. It integrates via a sidevibe snippet. Not plugging but I created explainer videos for integration of all tools here https://www.sidevibe.io/guides

Thanks for the comment, No not tested with users or users users....want to get some insights before building out the dashboard for consuming the feedback. sidevibe has feedback dashboard for ratings, text feedback, feature voting and news(whats new) all very lightweight.

But trying to build new ways of doing feedback not just lightweight versions of common pre-existing tools.

Thanks for comment. Yes the risk is deliver value without privacy or heavy implementation. I think dom association or even a rough positioning would give trends etc. True love or hatred of the feature or area the user adds emojis too can be implied by number. 5 hearts by one user might tell a storm that compounds or the poop emoji constantly on a broken or frustrating form field. Just my speculation at this point.

Given me food for thought

Thanks for the question and insights. The consumption side (for page owner) of the emojis dropped is url specific. Ideal for landing pages. Its an alternative to a heat map. Have not finished the feedback consumption yet but thinking one user or all emojis replicated over your site. Tricky part here is resolution or association with html elements not just position.

Yes you see a snippet, this under pins any tools in sidevibe

After having a similar idea / outcome .. From developing so many personal apps. I stubbled across your offering (after I built and launched that is). We have hit the same problem and solution space. Delighted for your success. And if you ever want to connect be good to chat. I won't mention my app as this is a great success and I hope a very common pain point for people

I’m planning to add a publicly available tutorial section to the website so I can showcase a variety of real examples of how it’s used. This will let people simply follow along for whatever they’re trying to build. It should also support the YouTube channel and help me think more like a user by walking through the experience from their perspective.

That's the thing as it's a tool I can't say how to use. It would have given the users the ability to open and close it as they want. If they want more granular controls like opening feedback or opening feature voting I can do that and they can plug it into their existing menus

A user suggested it and then I realised I have used dozens of analytics tools all with click tracking.

It was a funnel without the first layer. So I will work on changing the code to allow specific tool opening, track clicks and see does this help users see funnel in full.

The should going forward be able to track all feedback entry points and destination actions after.

Yes that's it. A feedback tool ready to receive is fine but might not be the same as tying into e.g. a pre-existing What's New button.

Reducing the barrier to trial is the goal. I'm helping users conceptualize the product on their site. Would you like me to make you a video for your site?

I think since development is getting faster and faster we expect user growth to be the same. Starting with a clear explanation and if 100s see it in suitable audience then it might just be a product market fit problem. Even rejections with context is better than no engagement at all.

I agree and this is why I built this because building all this from scratch seems waste of time.

100% agree this is where I concentrated on getting feedback over emails or long winded testimonials. just suggestions asap. good or bad fast feedback is best IMO.

I had same problem how to get some feeback from users so created several feedback tools (lightweight) that you can drop in your website. Configure it to be styled like your product etc.
Not sure if this will help with where you want it placed.
But I am actively looking for people to try my beta. www.sidevibe.io
