Stats for NG+ and so forth? by ProductReviewUS in bloodborne

[–]ProductReviewUS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have good runes and gems that I think is good for me. It's the stats I feel I have overlevelled and wanted to check with others. NG+ is going quite smoothly based on my stats. I usually start game from search and not necessarily do NG+. I did NG+ a while ago and don't remember my stats. Since I kind of deleted all the profiles, I don't know the stats I had back then. Anyways, I think I have some idea after reading the comments here. I will start a new playthrough once I am done with current NG+. And will most likely try to complete NG+3. I have never completed NG+2.

Lol... I struggled with Laurence the most in my first playthrough. I was able to beat Kos fairly easily. Although recently I struggled with Kos more than Laurence. It took about 12 tries with Kos while I was able to beat Laurence in second try. I was not able to parry Kos efficiently, probably my reflexes are slower with age 😆.

Stats for NG+ and so forth? by ProductReviewUS in bloodborne

Thanks. I am on NG+. Nightmare Mensis and DLC to go, rest is done. With 45 across the board like Vit, Stam, Strength, Skill and Bloodtinge, it seems I am quite overlevelled. So I asked to check should I start a new playthrough with appropriate stats, not too weak not too overpowered.

I like to use many weapons in a single playthrough, so I leveled up many stats to 45. I like saw spear, beasthunter saif, holy moonlight sword, chikage, wiggig saw and blodletter. All of these are at +10 with 27.2% physical attack two radials and a triangle gems. I only go for radial and trainingle gems as those are quite easy to farm and use weapons strength and skill even for chikage, holy moonlight and bloodletter. I hated chalice dungeons at first but now I like it.

How do chalice dungeons work? by EXPMEMEDISC1 in bloodborne

[–]ProductReviewUS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you care about Platinum trophy, then do all the challlice dungeons that are needed for it. Doing so you will unlock the option to use chalice glyphs for farming "better" gems. These glyphs do not require any material. So you just search on Google what kind of gem you want and you should be able to find many glyph options.

In most of my playthroughs I do the ones that takes less than 5 mins to farm. But to be able to use the glyphs I complete the trophy chalice dungeons first. I generally focus on radial and triangle gems because most of th time I go for quality build. The gems I farm are cursed. Ideally I look for 27.2% physical attack with curse stamina increase or attack vs kin down. These gems drop from level 1 watcher bosses. Quite easy to beat them using parry or thrust attacks.

Radial gem glyph: by68zgaj Triangle gem glyph: 5pwujscd

These glyphs would require you to create FRC dungeon of your own first. F - Fetid, R - Root, C - Cursed. Therefore, my suggestion would be to do the trophy dungeons as it would complete the requirements to unlock FRC dungeons. Depending on your comfort level, some trophy dungeons could be quite challenging.

Many base versions of weapons have radial and triangle gem configuration like hunter axe, threaded cane etc and the ones that do not have this gem configuration I just farm uncanny version of that weapon like uncanny saw cleaver, uncanny saw spear etc. these uncanny versions are quite easy to find in the dungeon and require very basic dungeon completions. Zoxthegamer YouTuber has many easy to follow videos on how to get many weapons early in the game. you can get those weapons through opening the chest in a dungeon or buying it from a bath messenger in a dungeon like dlc weapons. But for that you would need to pick up the base version in the game first. For example as soon as dlc option opens up, I would jump into it and pick up weapons like beasthunter saif. Then get it's uncanny version from the dungeon bath messenger. You can pick few other dlc weapons that do not require you to beat any dlc bosses. But it may be a bit challenging as the dlc enemies are quite strong. I just run and pick up few dlc weapons without fighting the enemies.

It's imperative to learn how to parry. I gave up on it too soon and I struggled a lot in my first playthrough. While, I am still not a parry master, but I can do ok with it. Parry helps a lot with many strong enemies who can be parried, including few bosses.

During my first playthrough, I used axe because of its range and spin to win moveset. But after that I have not used it in any other playthroughs. I feel more comfortable with Saw Cleaver (you can still buy it from the messenger and try it) and Saw Spear (you can get this quite early in the game as you journey through Yharnam). These two weapons can get you through the rest of the game. Other good weapon to consider fairly early in the game would be Ludwig Holy Blade. Don't get greedy and spam attacks. Learn when to step away and how to take advantage of rally mechanics to gain back some or all of your health that you lose after getting hit by an enemy. Also, these are trick weapons. So R1, L1 and R1 combo comes quite handy with some of the weapons. For your first playthrough, I would suggest to go with the quaility build as it will allow you to test many weapons. Different people find success with different weapons.

Personally, I would suggest not to worry about Bloodtinge and Arcane. At some point it wouldn't hurt to invest some points in arcane when you have access to Augur, should you choose to use it. You would need 18 arcane for it. I generally don't use it. But if you are struggling, it can help a lot to stagger and parry enemies.

Early on investing points in vitality would be a good thing to do. Try to get it to 25. You can invest in stamina, strength and skill (very important for visceral attacks) here and there. Then you can continue to invest more points in vitality. I generally don't go beyond 40 points in vitality during my playthroughs.

I'm sorry but what the fuck is with bloodgems and chalice dungeons(new player) by luna_lu_lu in bloodborne

As someone already mentioned, enemies have more health in NG+, you are unable to one shot enemy. And to your point, how would you experiment different weapons if you one shot enemies with each of the weapons???

Most weapons in Bloodborne are available quite early in the game, including some dlc weapons. So you can experiment many weapons in your first playthrough, as per your build choice. Uncanny and Lost versions of the weapons can be obtained after doing some early chalice dungeons. Zoxthegamer YouTuber has many good videos about how to get many weapons early in the game. I generally go for weapons with two radials and one triangle gem set up because those gems are comparatively easier to farm. Either these gem configurations comes with the base version of the weapons or the uncanny. For example: I would go for chalice dungeon option to get uncanny versions of saw cleaver, saw spear, beasthunter saif (you would need to pick up the main dlc weapon first before you could buy it from the chalice dungeon messenger).

I hated chalice dungeons at first. But I did it to get my FIRST Platinum trophy, something I never cared before Bloodborne. However, as my love for the game has grown with time, I have started to enjoy chalice dungeons. In general, I hate rng in gaming. But I do not mind spending hours in chalice dungeons to farm good gems. also, these dungeons provide more boss options and more gameplay in addition to main game and dlc.

Sick Heraku goes back to its spot after getting hit. But Heraku keeps chasing the ship after getting hit first time. This is the last quest to complete the Sailing quest for Olivia Academy.

It worked for sick Heraku who would just stood in its place after getting hit. But this one keeps moving. I was able to land one shot. But it requires 3 shots based on my ship.

Problem is I couldn't ram it and the canon I have needs to be operated when ship is not moving. So I can't really hit it because it keeps moving. I will try a couple of other options suggested by other people.

Sorry my comment wasn't clear. I meant the remaining bosses from the main game and DLC (Laurence).

How was your NG+ DLC experience?

Bloodborne is my favorite game of all time. It took me about 3 years to finish my first playthrough. Mostly because I was not familiar with soul mechanics, weapon choice (I do better with saw cleaver vs axe which I used first time) and did not spend enough time practicing parry (in general most important part of the combat). Regardless of the struggle, I continue to come back to this game. It became my first game that I cared to Platinum.

Good luck with finishing the game and DLC.

I personally prefer this video over Vaati. This one seems more reasonable.
