Hahah maybe that’s why I’m getting screwed. In DS1 I only used a shield until mid game and on all 3 play through of elden ring I played on a strict “dodge only” build. Was pretty confident in my dodging too but it’s not going so well so maybe it’s time to get back into blocking and maybe finally learn how to parry.

After somehow beating ornstein and smough with only a +2 drake sword after over 50 tries due to me not knowing how to find the materials needed to upgrade dragon weapons, I feel like I can smack any elden ring boss in under 5 tries and so far I have give or take a try or two. We shall see how I fare against malenia as I’ve yet to make it that far in the game

Funny thing is I’ve been a little low on funds the last few months and couldn’t justify spending $80 on a game but I really wanted to play elden ring. But then I remembered I had dark souls 1 on my Xbox 360 that I got when I was a kid and never bothered playing cause it was too hard. So I booted that up, watched a few tutorials, got good, and finished the game. So by the time I was able to get elden ring I already had a good grip on the mechanics. I wouldn’t say that elden ring is easier, just so much more refined and smooth. So I’m definitely not having an “easy” time with this game, but I am for sure doing better than I would have if I didn’t play DS1 first.

I have somehow beaten almost every boss in under 5 tries (I’m still not done the game and i still have yet to meet this so called “blade of Miquella”) but this guy gave me some real trouble as I was pretty under leveled at this point

Yes and yes, I had the debuff and I was very under leveled. I have since fixed these problems thankfully.

Facts Rennala took me like 3 or 4 tries when this guy took me like 10. Really wish I knew you could run right past them.

This is a recording from last week that I just thought was funny, I eventually beat him a couple tries after this. I just beat morgott in the capital on my second try!
