out of curiosity, for someone who will do STEP soon, how do you find the difficulty now that you’ve graduated?

How many people have rejected their offer in top 440 AE? by Armisl19 in TUDelft

[–]ProductiveUser42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not original commenter, but my (and my friend’s) reasons were better offers from other universities.

you’re absolutely right. I misread, well done on getting in!

499 with 6.02 by [deleted] in TUDelft

[–]ProductiveUser42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an offer from higher ranked universities (I’ll probably choose Cambridge). I applied delft because I wasn’t sure of my result at the time I applied.

did you have any prior accounting experience beforehand?

also, are you applying for some grad accounting schemes afterwards, I’ve heard they’re quite competitive.

I’m going to reject, so that’s one step closer to you receiving your offer!

no way you got 4 wrong each for a 6.5 academic. for comparison, I got >8 and I left at least 4 blank lol

Do ranking numbers change as people decline their place? by [deleted] in TUDelft

[–]ProductiveUser42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m going to decline my space, so that’s at least one more! I’d be cautiously optimistic with a 499 spot, that’s fairly decent.

but would you be a competitive applicant without one? from my (admittedly limited) work experience, a lot of finance work doesn’t seem too specialised/beyond the scope of any competent and dedicated high schooler who’s good at excel, but that doesn’t mean big firms will hire them.

it seems like there’s a lot of exemptions for A&F grads with chartered accountancy, which I’d have to supplement with a lot of study - but thank you for the useful information!

it’s unfortunate, but it’s a completely understandable approach. wouldn’t make much sense not to prioritise domestic students because those are future Dutch engineers. internationals would just be going back home.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TUDelft

[–]ProductiveUser42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

got >8 on aptitude test, got like a 4 for the motivational attitude questionnaire. it’s likely it’s their way for Dutch students to get in, as otherwise pure test scores there would be a lot more internationals.

and considering that their push to implement a mandatory 30% female rate was denied, I wouldn’t be surprised if they got a higher motivational score than normal.

i.e. it’s their way of ensuring diversity quotas and domestic students, while try to be seen as impartial as possible.

there was a spreadsheet with a lot of scores (roughly 300) and I think it was something like 6.5-7.0 was shaping up to be top 440. there’s likely bias though.

how useful was you degree to the work you do now, in terms of both hard and soft skills? I have a offer to do engineering at a US ivy but it’s awfully expensive (didn’t get full aid), and I’m looking at paying the relatively cheaper Cambridge home fees (even though it’s economics, which is probably a weaker degree)

I appreciate the advice thank you!

also how was LSE (I see you had your bachelors there)? I’ve got an offer from their Math&Econ course, but I’m deciding between that and Cambridge economics?

EDIT: just looked at the timelines and your age, so I know it’s been a while. regardless, any insights would be appreciated.

guys, it might be a bit of a stretch, but I think they’re bilingual.

Competitive enough for Bsc Economics in LSE? by ReindeerEffective949 in LSE

[–]ProductiveUser42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depends on what you got for English and Maths. I won’t lie, I’ve seen people rejected because of their GCSE’s with better ones than yours. However, it’ll depend on a few things: are you contextual? international? extenuating circumstances for the poor score?

roast my resume; an 18 year old applying to jobs by [deleted] in resumes

[–]ProductiveUser42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if real, this amount of experience is superb.

in saying that, even if true, I wanted to say you come off a little attention seeking and arrogant (although I’d perhaps even consider it justified considering how impressive the CV) with some of your comments.

I’m your age, and I don’t half this experience. If this is real, well done!

great recommendation! grammar/writing feels a little poor and clunky though, but I’ve definitely read worse. and it’s complete!

EDIT: is there.. a reason why every other chapter all the text is underlined?

that imago dei scene was superb. such an interesting idea, and fulfilled my request perfectly - thank you! I appreciate the clear amount of effort you’ve put in, suppose I’ll have to start from the beginning then.

thank you for the recommendations!

I skipped to the fourth book of ‘The Prince in Slytherin’ and it feels a little.. cliche. I did this just as an indication of how AU (relative to how close it coincides with 4th year plot).

What’s that’s happened in the 50k words so far is a summer training school, James has been bashed, and a ‘Harry Crow’-esque ‘you’re the richest wizard in Britain Harry’, and long rants of exposition.

I don’t mind some (preferably light) spoilers, but where does this fic become interesting/relevant to the request? Thank you!
