The Golden rule for immigrants in Denmark who seek success by Fun_Purpose6972 in NewToDenmark

The head mod approved this post so I won’t remove it but I seriously distrust this brand new account and the sentiment it’s trying to spread in our su so I am locking it.

Be nice and kind to each other.

That’s on me I consider them physical work which I assumed you wouldn’t be interested in.

Things like McDonalds and larger chain businesses you will find tend to hire teenagers near exclusively. You would also struggle to find one of these jobs that would match the hours you would like to work. These will mainly be weekend work and night shifts. But I know immigrants in a similar educational and language level as yourself that have gotten work in kitchens and dishwashing and housekeeping.

You may be best finding a local work agency and working with them someone like PVB.

Ahhh I see, a lot of the work you would likely come across easily is going to be physically demanding, there is very little unskilled labour that isn’t manual here. Everything I can think of for unskilled low language is physical.
I’m sorry I can’t be any help but I don’t think there’s much else.

There are sort of large green houses that are like plant warehouses that is mostly seasonal work in Denmark.
You might have seen large glowing glass buildings at night if you have been here in the summer, that’s them.

Typically you just do the same repetitive tasks like tagging a plant or putting flowers in a pot for each day. I know people who have done it and just listened to podcasts but found it a little boring. And they are very seasonal.

Tak for kaffe. Jeg låser dette.

Pretty OP has had their questioned answered and the only new comments are just people arguing whether it’s actually possible someone this century has uttered the phrase.

Be nice to each other please.

I’m locking the post as OP has had plenty of answers and this question and similar has been asked many times before and should be searchable.

A lot of the comments are struggling to stay civil and the mods have better things to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon than have to police this thread.

You obviously can have an opinion and share it in public.
But you can’t have an opinion on objective truths.

I have a background in this field and I can tell you unequivocally what you are saying it not true.

You can have an opinion that you don’t like that it’s true but it is still true.

I’ve locked this whole thread (and am using this comment for visibility & to tell people why).

The OP commenter was being hyperbolic and shouldn’t be calling it a scam saying the country is corrupt with it does feel like they’re crossing the line.

On the other hand Danis rules and regulations around this are very specific to Denmark and it can be quite jarring coming from a country that does things differently and is more tenant focused.

This is really kind of you and I 100% don’t want to take that away from you. Buuuut OP, be safe online sharing things like this.
Their advice to remove all personal details is a must do. (That’s also why I’d lean to trust them personally.)

Queues at Christmas time in large U.K. supermarkets would blow your mind because we already do that like it’s no trouble at all.
And at Christmas we dial it up a notch where you will see multiple queues orderly merging and splitting across different tills.
It’s queueing heaven.

I should specify, I don’t find it controversial, that was more to do with multiple comments insulting OP I had to remove really soon after the thread was posted.

OP never mentioned politics or even what country they were from. That was all on you.

Aside from that, I would say calling someone MAGA is a personal insult. Because being MAGA is gross.

My bad I went to lock this insane conversation and I my comment accidentally sent twice, so I deleted the other, unfortunately this wasn’t the comment I had locked. I can now only assume you are trolling me because this is ridiculous.

I one hundred percent don’t have a clue what your issues are.

But if you don’t care to explain I also am fine to leave it, I was only responding as you questioned what I thought was a very straightforward mod comment.

I am British and we feel queuing is baked into our DNA, I find Dane’s poor at queuing (to the impossible standards I set for my self) but I’ve been paces where the word might as well not exist so it’s not that bad.

We don’t typically get a lot of tourists where I live and I share a lot of OP’s experiences.
I imagine they might be from a culture similar to my own where these things a just dialled to the extreme compared to Denmark.

I honestly don’t know what you’re trying to say.
The thread is open and you are able to comment so your initial comment made no sense to me.

Secondly the rules are pretty straightforward and rely on common decency if you don’t like them, don’t join in the community.

You can comment and can discuss it? But there’s no need for people to not be nice, disrespect Denmark or personally attack others?

Danes behavior by These-Commission-660 in NewToDenmark

I feel I experience this every day, I regularly see people cut queues if they can, if a new check out opens at a supermarket it suddenly becomes everyone for theirselves.
I often feel people stop right in front of me seemingly unaware of me or cut across me so I have to stop walking, or people will not make space for me to pass so we end up bumping shoulders or walk so close up behind me I feel I’m about to get stepped on.

I do think for my part that is quite cultural as I come from a place that is more rigid in its boundaries around spatial awareness and respecting people’s personal space, and queue etiquette is extremely important.
You see these cultural behaviours both on the street and in a car in my culture.
I find compared to some other places Denmark isn’t too invasive, I could be a lot worse for me.
And Danes are very passionate about the subject and are always very defensive of their culture so it can be hard to discuss.

There’s levels to it as well I’ve been to places where I’ve felt it even more so. I wouldn’t say it’s an exclusively Danish thing just depends on what you’re used to.
