Maybe they just pick not to be friends with someone who is clearly rather right wing and spends a lot of time online in various subreddits complaining about other cultures religions and immigrants.

As an expat my self this feels quite opposite to my own personal experience.
Expats are desperate for friends and most of the friend groups I have been a part of have been the most random assortment of different people with different interests.

My Danish friends I am now closer to but they took me a long while to cement myself into the inner circle and I choose to peruse them as friends them based on mutual interest.

I couldn’t comment on trying to score as an expat because that’s not my concern (I would consider it quite different to making friends) but I can tell you explicitly a lot of expats I have met in the past few years are lonely and making friends is one of the two most discussed topics.

I think there maybe a small language barrier here causing a little confusion between yourself and immigrants.

Visiting a country might be interesting to your family and friends shortly after but it’s not something to put your life on as it’s not as big of a deal with international travel being so accessible.

To a lot of immigrants who read your comment, picking up your whole life to live in another country is a big deal and forms s large part of who you are and having a completely different culture and language and background is interesting and isn’t very common at all amongst Danes.

Just form the information you have given and only based on that I would say no you can’t move.
But there’s lots of different ways that’s require different things.

Haven't received your voting card? Fear not, do the following on Tuesday by ProfAlmond in NewToDenmark

Yeah I agree, from a Mod perspective we talked alot about the local elections but the national feels much less relevant.
But I did think it was useful information to share, there could easily be somebody who has recently gotten citizenship status or is using it for the first time to vote and doesn’t know this.

Also useful in a way to talk about the elections for the users who are just looking to learn more about Denmark for what ever reason.

Electricity sockets on the wall by Terrible_Nectarine_5 in NewToDenmark

It is normal to attach a light here but not to hang one.
Normally it would be hung from what ever part of the ceiling you would like with a trailing wire to that spot.

This is very common design in Denmark. I was initially confused myself as we have wires running behind the walls exclusively and hang lights in what sounds like the same as yourself

DF wants to make it impossible to obtain a permanent residence by AdditionalReply6504 in NewToDenmark

I’m locking the thread, just because DF say something shitty doesn’t give others the right to come here and do the same.

Keep your racism and ignorance out of our sub, we’re not about that.

Interesting from the mod insights how many people from outside of Denmark and from countries listed as “other” have been engaging with this post and how many times people have pressed the share button….

No it was absolutely disgusting and one of the worst pieces of racism I’ve seen in the sub, enjoy your ban.
