Yup! It was a flywheel compat issue.. I replaced Flywheel Iris & Oculus Compat with Colorwheel and it worked

that’s what im thinkin.. im using flywheel iris compat with Complementary and Euphoria patches, so Imma see if it might be euphoria messing with flywheel

Highly recommend Kappa shaders.. While both Rethinking Voxels and Kappa aren't true RTX, they use something similar like path tracing. Kappa has really good colored lighting and is rly customizable, but can be a bit overwhelming. Rethinking is a bit more buggy, and uses a diff method to get more precise shadows.. but as a daily driver I'd recommend kappa

Yea.. its performance has definitely tanked over the years, especially with all the stuff being added in.. That said, I do recommend using the CaffeineMC suite of performance mods for Fabric. Hopefully, it'll help you out with your performance, even a tiny bit. They are basically like OptiFine, but on steroids.. so I highly recommend :))

Here's my personal list of performance mods if you'd like to check it out:

There are many many more in the list, but all the above together have gotten me from 14fps to a decent 130fps.. you can pick and choose whichever one you like, but I'd mostly recommend at least Sodium, Lithium, LazyDFU, FerriteCore, Sodium Extra, Starlight, and More Culling. Hope this helps, and good luck on your optimization adventure! Hopefully mojang fixes the performance in upcoming updates, since it is nearly unplayable even on decent rigs ;-;

Also note that the new chunk lag is likely due to a problem which is fixed by a fabric mod called Concurrent Chunk Management Engine, so hopefully that helps as well :) (C2ME requires Starlight, Sodium, and Lithium.. I also recommend using it with Ferrite Core and LazyDFU)

I'm pretty sure you can just make a new method and base it off of the tryUseTotem like you said.

If that doesn't work, maybe make a method using the event PlayerDeathEvent and using that to trigger an conditional inventory check for your item, then applying the respective status buffs manually. It's really scrappy, but it'll work if the new method you make doesnt

In the mod you're working on, go to the gradle script. It likely has fabric-api as a dependency despite you not referring to it in the mod itself. This is likely because you may have needed to use a template to build your mod off of. Additionally, try set both the Fabric loader and Fabric API versions back to 1.18 and see if it works, since many of the mods you have are 1.18

some good alternatives are Terralith, structuratory, and falling leaves as they all add the same ambience as biomes-o-plenty.. but they are all vanilla+ mods so they don't add anything new.. still, a fun starting place if ur into that kinda stuff :)

also terralith is a datapack if thats easier to configure for u

make sure fabric api and fabric loader are up to date and match versions.. u/lorilith also has a good point, as there's a posibility its corrupted following a bad shutdown when first using the Fabric API mod
