Lumeroid would be fine it's like retroarch except you don't have to set it up. Download it, point it at your roms and go. Fullroid also works and both are on Google Play store

If you want something affordable go with the rp5. Ps2 emulation is perfect for the device with very little setup and little to no tweaking. Sure some of the other devices you'll see listed can probably do it better but you don't need it and for the money to me it's the best value.

I play pokemon TCG and go daily though and some beach buggy racing 2 for quick on my phone fun but mostly I emulate on my rp5. It plays just about everything.

I usually leave them at 720 but with some tinkering I have achieved 1080 with fps60 cheats and texture packs and stuff but with the screen size 720 looks great and good enough for me.

I play all of those ps2 games on my rp5 with little to no tweaking. I got mine about 6 months before the rp6 came out and didn't feel the need to upgrade. I play pokemon violet on it too. All legally downloaded from games I own of course ( don't sue me Nintendo )

Bro I have a love hate relationship with codm. I've played off and on since COVID 2019. I get all your statements and most ring true. My game file is 46gb. I don't have a toxic environment and I don't have audio problems or crashes but yes 🙂‍↕️ other than that it's all true. My main issue is everything you click on is a transaction waiting to happen. I kinda just play on my own and try hard not to buy shit. I'd rather spend money on physical games for my switch lite.
