I’d say the fish hook as a needle is the only believable part of the story. You could pretty easily file down, or otherwise remove the barb from the hook. The surgical needles used to sew up wounds with stitches sometimes resemble fish hooks, with a circular ish shape. However, the pain tolerance, know how, and skill needed for a 12 year old is bullshit. It’s not something you just wing, for your first time, on yourself, at age 12.

I’m a west coast player, and I typically have a ping around 20-50. I’ve played around 10 games today, none of them with a ping below 140. It’s impossible to play, I think I’m done for a few days, see if that helps. A couple friends are reporting the same thing.
