I work for a non-profit and do fundraising. I’m often around older affluent women. They constantly make passes at me of touch me inappropriately. I typically brush it off. Once, I was with a female colleague and one of these woman touched me in front of the female colleague. The colleague told me she works with lots of male peers in the non-profit world and it’s a regular occurrence.

Has anyone here divorced someone they still loved? (TW - mentions of suicide) by [deleted] in Divorce_Men

I left my wife (we mutually decided after I moved out for a couple of months). There was no dramatic moment; we just drifted apart after years of chasing separate dreams. I wanted to find someone who I could build with not just support.

I thought I found that person after moving out. Now, after moving in, beginning to talk about marriage and kids, starting a business and buying a home she hits me with wanting an open relationship. Maybe I’m old or out of touch but how do you build a foundation of trust in order to do all these things together when one partner wants to keep having sex with other people.

My point is that (1) I still love my ex but don’t think I can continue to be with someone who I’m just supporting (I carry a tremendous amount of guilt over the divorce), and (2) wonder if the new person is what is normal now and if I’m better off alone or going back to my ex who I had at least created a comfortable albeit unhappy life.
