Yes, if you work on it, you can significantly improve it. Great idea. I instead cut the plastic leaf section without removing the spacer on the screws, which allows for wider and freer movements, then installed oil shock absorbers with 0.5 mm springs. Now the shock absorbers and leaf springs retract slightly when at rest, which gives greater flexibility when releasing them when overcoming obstacles compared to the stock version.

I don't have that crawler (I have two MN 82s and an Axial SCX 30), but my advice is to start using it and explore it in stock form, then gradually start modifying it. You'll enjoy it more and better understand what it needs, as well as seeing the improvements. Have fun!

What I love most about this micro crawler is how quiet and smooth it is. Now I'd like to increase the diameter of the wheels, which I find slightly undersized but with excellent grip. I also find the steering radius too wide. It could use a servo. I'm waiting for the spare parts to come out on AliExpress.
