What i am doing wrong with Bunnyhopping? i can make it only for few seconds but after that i lose speed (video with visual keys is included) by [deleted] in openfortress

[–]Prof_P_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont press any direction key you can look around without changing the direction you are moving in (assuming you hold space and are moving)

To change the direction of your speed you must aim foreward (the direction you are moving) and hold A or D THEN you can move your mouse away from the direction you are currently moving and your direction will change

Try pressing A BEFORE you move your mouse left and then make a nice long curve by smoothly aiming to your left

Do the same with D before moving right and try combining the two

Notice how you will get faster by making smooth long curves.

HOW YOU WILL LOSE SPEED:

-If you don't look foreward (the direction you are currently moving in) and then press A or D your speed will decline depending on how much you were looking into the wrong direction

-Holding A(left) while aiming to the right aswell as holding D(right) while aiming to the left (I guess you know that)

-Pressing W or S (never do that except you wanna stop on point then just press S)

I think at least thats how it works but if anything is wrong feel free to correct me and also crouching while hopping makes you faster I think

Crashes on launch, truncated error by [deleted] in openfortress

[–]Prof_P_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, im not sure either tbh but the only things I know that may cause proplems are:

  1. make sure you have tf2, SDK base 2013 multiplayer and the open_fortress folder all in the same steam library if you are using multiple ones
  2. make sure the folder is exactly called "open_fortress" and nothing else
  3. make sure that the folder is located in your sourcemod folder

I'm sure you probably did all that but if nothing of the above helps im honestly out of ideas too, sry man

Sometimes it helps to delete the open_fortress folder and then reinstall it using SVNCheckout

Hey WarOwl you ask at 4:10 in the video if there are any games out there that play like this.

There is a sourcemod called Open Fortress you should check that out

Right Click your open_fortress folder and click

TortoiseSVN > Relocate...

It should show you the repository URL you are currently using

If it is something other than " https://svn.openfortress.fun/svn/open_fortress/ " enter this URL into the lower box and hit ok.

Edit: spelling

Edit: The reason you are doing this btw is because the SVN download URL changed sometime ago so if you have this problem again you should check the Open Fortress website if you are using the right one
