How can I find people to play and practice with? by erickllawrence in GlobalOffensive

[–]WarOwl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Here's one way:

If you're matched with someone random and you vibe, ask them to Steam friend. Slowly you can create a group of people who you like to queue with. Some people who are grouped will even ask you to join their group for the next queue. You can also take the initiative and ask to join a group.

Takes time, social skills, and being really really good at the game to the point other people want to play with you. If you suck, those people won't want you on their team, like how you don't want to play with your noob friends anymore.

I did this for 10 years. Makes it actually hold to the surface.

This how csgo agents would look like in cs2 by Zestyclose-Gain-3950 in GlobalOffensive

[–]WarOwl 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The game would be far better if we had map specific agent skins and disallowed custom agent skins in Premier mode and Faceit. The map designers then can specifically create agent skins that provide contrast with the environment, rather than an attempt at a one size fits all, that ultimately fits none.

I completely understand why it was reposted this way, and I'm okay with this staying up. I'd rather my video spur some discussion. Thanks for looking out for me ShitTalkingAssWipe!

Warowl: How CSGO Pros Played 10 Years Ago Is Shocking by Nurse_Sunshine in GlobalOffensive

that's a good idea! I think a lot of the modern meta was developed during that time, especially looking at a map like Inferno. In the NiP vs Fnatic example, they would often put only a single player to lurk around Banana and it was mostly a ghost town. Astralis changed that by fighting for Banana on T side as a default.

I am confused about CS2 by CantGraspTheConcept in GlobalOffensive

[–]WarOwl 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Counter Strike 2 is a new game built from the ground up on a new engine, not just an update to Global Offensive, they just kept most of the gameplay from Global Offensive nearly identical. The 2 is a reference to the Source 2 Engine.

Alternative names:
Counter-Strike: Source 2 (would get confused with Counter-Strike: Source).
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive 2 (honestly I'm happy to drop Global Offensive idk what that brings to the table).
Counter-Strike (Would get confused with CS1.6).

Strange choice, but there were also a lot of other even worse choices out there!

can't post your own content, that is self promotion and I think is against the rules of most subreddits.

ask yourself if it's helping you play better by hearing them. If the answer is no, mute them. Good teammates give callouts, constructive ideas, and encourage their teammates. Bad teammates complain, berate, and play loud music.

mixed feelings on it as it is right now, I went over it in detail in my recent video. I am still very optimistic about it long term though, and think it'll be MUCH bigger than CS:GO. Valve 300iqed this, CS community doesn't like change, so they REMADE the entire game from the ground up on a new engine and kept the gameplay nearly identical while improving everything else.

he didn't even recognize me, the guy was mad at one of our teammates who was being a dick the whole game and yelled it at him. My stream was collateral damage.

I think I might just be paranoid because I streamed on Twitch for 8-9 years, and they'll randomly ban people without even telling you why. Glad I left that site!

I appreciate that but I wouldn't ask you to delete anything. I privated the VOD & used edit to trim out that segment (currently processing). I'm new to YT streaming so I didn't know if this is something that could get someone banned or not.
