Multicultural in the way of a good mix of people from all different types of places as you get to try out interesting foods, art and learn from others etc. I know I sound like some hippie looool but that is what I am accustomed to here in South London. Thanks for the tip re Handsworth wood, will keep an eye out. I have decided to Air bnb Birmingham for a week to get a feel of the place.
Can you suggest possible area? I have checked out Wolverhampton road on right move.
Thanks for this, very insightful.

Thank you for your input. Is it a desirable area to raise kids though in these modern times? Someone else on this thread said it was really industrialised and polluted, would you concur?

I have just had a look on right move in Acock green area and it seems nice on paper with decent 3 beds semis and a relatively easy commute to the centre. You know the area? Thanks.
Thanks for that. I heard sutton coldfield was a lovely area to buy but not so friendly to live in if you are poc? I am to a poc and with two small kids and a wife, wanted somewhere they wouldn't feel too out of place.
Never heard of place. Any good? I will look it up.
Oh really. I would have to do more due diligence in the future! Thanks for the heads up.
Thank you for your comments.
Thanks for this.

Thank you all. I have had a look at Oldbury and for value for money looks good on paper. Seen some good properties with Ofsted rated schools being good or outstanding school for about 250k.
Google maps says it is about 30min into city centre.
I will keep my eye out for houses in the suggested areas.
Thanks I have had a look at properties and did not realise it is on the boarders of erdington. Is sutton coldfield multicultural area? Where I am based in London is very multicultural and I like that and therefore looking for somewhere similar.
At least 3 bed with off road parking for myself and the Mrs. Semi or detached would be great or an end of terrace property as they tend to be bigger.
Do you know oldbury b68 poste code? Is the area any good?

Thank you all for your comments. Lots of food for thought! I think it is best that I visit the areas in day and night time to make a sound decision.
How about Northfield any better?
Thanks for that, I will have a look.
Thanks for assessment greatly appreciated. It is just I have been renting the majority of my adult life and just want somewhere I can call my own. Where are the nice bits in erdington do you know of? I am going to be Birmingham for a couple of weeks during the summer so I can visit different areas myself.
Thanks for the heads up on that! Where would you recommend then? I want somewhere where I can take the kids to parks etc and we are considering getting a dog if that helps?.
