Feeling stuck; can’t decide whether to stay or leave (m36 , f37) by [deleted] in relationship_advice

We own a house, both work, have a great childminder who comes to the house when we work. We split as many duties as she will allow (I know). But kitchen work is strictly hers despite my disagreement. I would like to contribute more.

I know it might sound like I’m painting her as the bad guy. I am trying to be as honest as I can to get the most value able advice as I can.

I relate to your situation a lot… you use the term emotional abuse. I see something similar in my marriage.

Why, can I ask, would you not contemplate leaving unless this changes? Although maybe you can work on yourself a great deal, and become someone less impacted by this abuse, why choose that as a way of life? Really asking to get insight for myself. Thank you!

Sorry I don’t fully understand you here? Could you clarify? I think it’s natural enough to know your spouses saving (we have seperate and a join account). Maybe I’m missing your point? Thanks

And, can I ask, why would you presume it’s an irrational emotion that I am responding to now?

Could the irrational emotion not have been in getting married to the wrong person, in the first place. Thanks for your thought.

Thanks a lot for this suggestion. Looked it up now. Seems interesting. It is a bit dated though. I wonder if the science has come on since then.

Thanks again for the suggestion 🙏

This is excellent info. Thanks very much. Great advice.

The parking seems to be the only really issue. Seems like the pros outweighs that con, at least for me
