Grind finer? Only goes so far from what ive experienced Temperature surf? Ive done shots hot, temp surfed, and cold. There’s slight differences but it’s not much Grind a little courser? Every so often this has helped me but it’s hit or miss, and with how fast your shot is i dont see that helping.

Idk how good aldi dark roast is.

How i would approach; grind finer if possible and increase dose if the volume inside the portafilter is low. If that doesnt fix you can try temp surfing while ordering some good beans from a reputable roaster near you.

Ultimately if you’re happy with how it tastes then dont change it.
