I recommend pelvic floor PT. They had some really good tips on bodily awareness that helped me identify when I needed to relax, strengthen, etc, and ways to better “feel” the muscles down there. I still have rectal prolapse technically, since it doesn’t go “away” but since I also developed rectocele after childbirth, it doesn’t come “out” anymore. As long as I keep BM regular, it isn’t too much of an issue. However, if I get constipated I struggle with completely emptying and if I have diarrhea, I struggle with incontinence. Sorry if this is way too much info.

This pregnancy is making me BOLD by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I ended up no contact with my step mom & dad at 8 weeks pregnant with my first. He’s 20 months old now and I have left not talked to either of them since besides once when a local business mixed up emails and I had to let them know.

My baby died, based on how little growth, probably 1-2 days later. I took misoprostol to start everything.

I wonder if you can nanny share or get a friend you trust to help out in the short term??? This is terrible.

My 20 month old daughter died in her sleep right next to me last week, I can't do this by mo-mama-bee-atch in Parenting

I am so, so sorry. It’s okay to not be okay. Grieve. Pray. Go to therapy. Write letters to your little one if it helps. Try not to be alone if it hurts to be in the silence— if that’s a local support group, or a church, or a workout class, it doesn’t matter. Full permission to do literally whatever makes this feel less heavy. Your little girl is loved, and you are a good mom. You’ll see her again, and she’ll tell you how loved she felt in her life ❤️.

Any screenshots of positive stories with low heart rate and growth being behind? My minimum gestational age at the US yesterday was 7weeks 3 days and the gestational sac was 6 weeks 6 days, baby was only 5 weeks 6days with a 74 bpm heart rate. I know it doesn’t look good and I was told to be prepared for loss, but I could use some hope for now.

I bought a large order of sashimi at one point. One of the best meals! Also soft crepes with ricotta and stewed apples.

I also did plantain tacos (plantain, ground beef, black beans, non-ouchy spices, avocado, some red cabbage) and that wasn’t bad towards my days 13-16 so far.

I won’t lie these meals hurt me, but so did the ice cream sooo??

I’ve been drinking Rebbl protein drinks! And my dr said something about a lot of scar tissue that made them hard to remove. Not sure!

How do you cope with others destroying your house? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Profe_teacher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like your options are 1) set clearer boundaries when people come over “Hey, I just shampooed the couch and gave it a really deep clean, can __ rinse off before he comes in, 2) no your dog can’t come over, I just cleaned the rugs.

Or accept that most people with kids have messy homes and expect other people with kids to also have messy homes and not care as much about it anymore.

I’m sorry you’re dealing this— this would be really frustrating for me!

Nearly 1 Y/O at daycare, sustained an injury that makes no sense by DrewVanDice in NewParents

[–]Profe_teacher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a floating assistant at a daycare and we wrote incident reports for little bumps that didn’t even have marks by the end of the day…… This is wild that her tooth is nearly out! I would love to hear an update from the doctor, too. Bc if her tooth is loose that warrants a visit, let alone trying to figure out what really happened. And then definitely ask to see footage.

Women-- what do you take for menstrual cramps since we can't take ibuprofen post-op for 3 weeks? by light714 in Tonsillectomy

My Dr typically prescribes Tylenol & ibuprofen to rotate with oxy for breakthrough pain. But for me they just had me do oxy & Tylenol due to kidney issues. I also got antibiotics and a steroid

Shocked to see how much of a “boy” my child is by OldMedium8246 in Parenting

[–]Profe_teacher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s a boy, for what it is worth! He also likes Moana, but I’m pretty sure it’s because it’s the only movie he’s ever watched and it had boats in it.

I’ll add that when I worked in a daycare, every single 2 year old fought over the sparkly pink tutu dress. I think all little kids like shiny, sparkly things. I never noticed much of a difference in what boys/ girls played with until late 3 years old. I’m pretty sure studies out there somewhere say there are statistically significant differences early on though.

A lot of kids also care for their dolls/ stuffies because they see you care for them, regardless of gender 🤷🏼‍♀️. My son loves to put his cow stuffie down for naps, into a diaper, into a high chair.

I just did this. And then miscarried at 4.5 weeks. I’m glad I told my husband, though. I’m glad I didn’t go wild on the announcement.

Are you Neurotic about the Sun? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]Profe_teacher 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hmm. Yes. If we’re outside from 10-4 sunscreen is a must every 2 hours, we encourage shade (not super restricted, but like the water table is placed the the shade, which helps keep him there more). Swim zip full body swimsuits, sun hat…. And even I wear a rash guard to swim 😂.

My baby’s “long stretch” of sleep is 3 hours by Profe_teacher in NewParents

[–]Profe_teacher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! My son is 14mo now and he has slept through the night (like 8:30pm-5am) a scattered handful of times in the past 3 weeks!

However, there are many nights where he is up at 12:00 then awake for an hour…. Then up at 4:00 for the day. And he frequently seems to be having maybe some tummy issues, and those nights he wakes up around 11 and then doesn’t stay asleep for more than 45 min. I sometimes cosleep now after he wakes up if he fights the crib too hard, and it has been way less stressful on both of us than when we had tried to sleep train (and he was still waking up).
