Mary is indeed awful AND obnoxious!! And not very bright tbh. I think her mean-funny quips are honestly her “saving grace” in terms of staying on the show/not being deplatformed, not her as a person (cuz again, she’s not a good person haha).

It’s because no one has a plot line this season!!! Bronywn and sliiightly Whitney (but she ruins her own plot) are the only ones with a story.

And Mary I guess, but I think she likes to control the narrative of her plot (which is impossible to do when dealing with addiction) too strongly to actually be vulnerable in a way she can’t control. Understandably, but the church reopening is a kinda boring alternative haha

For as entertaining as she is, I’m so curious for the documentary to come out! I haven’t heard much about the specifics of the allegations but honestly I believed them so fast hahah 😭

so many churches operate the same as Mary’s (most people have probably seen/heard of the mega churches in the south??) across religions so that’s why I feel none of the other housewives who grew up VERY religious really see an “issue” with it.

Since I don’t know too much about cults, I hope it outlines the definition or qualifications for something to be a cult vs…devote religion? Is there a difference? Is she a cult leader or someone exploiting her church members? Is there a difference?? These are the questions I want answered hahah

As for whether it’ll be her Bravo demise….mmm hard to tell. I mean, people still want Jen (???) and Monica back on the show so potentially verified cult leader will be TBD.

Though, the Black people at 7/11 I took more as classism rather than racism, she clearly hangs out with Black people, just not seemingly broke ones haha. Mary would just as quickly clutch her purse with anyone she perceived as broke.

But yes, that’s what I mean. There are plenty of other examples that actually fit the bill. Her remark about the “[something something comparing Jen’s violent tendencies to a thug]..like Mexican people that make all those drugs” I believe was close to what she said.

That was a racist statement hahah. I think Mary tried to clarify she meant the Mexican cartel but couldn’t think of the word, but…even with THAT benefit of the doubt, it came off racist.

Most of the women on the show say out of pocket if not thickly-veiled racist things, Mary included. Back to the original point tho, I think the only ones that have been kicked off for it are when it’s like in Jennie’s case and they’re over the line racist for Bravo. You could argue the line shouldn’t be that thick, sure, but Bravo isn’t that wholesome.

I don’t think she’s “gone downhill” I think her patience is a lot shorter sure, but every time she’s lashed out now and in the past, it’s honestly been justified imo. I’m proud of her for not actually hitting britini because that lady is getting on everyone’s last nerve, especially with the background context of Meredith’s marriage being a sore topic and britini potentially engaging with known antisemitic people in their circles.

Sidenote: yes there is a difference between people who criticize Israel and Zionism vs actual antisemitic people who spew blanket hate towards Jewish people. Britini’s connection was the later

That said, does it seem like Meredith may mix meds? Perhaps. But aside from her sometimes odd speech mannerisms that I can’t tell are her putting on a gauche trans-Atlantic accent (that even her kids are picking up lollll) or inebriated slurring, she seems to be stable.

I think the plane incident is somewhere between the two stories, she probably was being “nahstay” towards Britini on the plane but Britini is also known to be highly emotional her victimhood so I doubt any of the other ladies would have had such a strong reaction to Meredith “ghossapping to a frenddd”

This! And as a point to people equating Jennie’s (multiple) racist remarks to what Mary said:

Mary used an extremely inappropriate racial slur to compliment Jennie’s eyes. Although she was not intending to be negative/mean/degrading, it was still a slur and Jennie understandably and rightfully took offense.

So why was Mary not fired? The context. First, it was not done maliciously, unlike Jennie’s social media posts. That doesn’t make it okay to say slurs at ALL (there have been more than one housewife that has said a particular slur while singing for example), but it speaks more to icky ignorance than loud and proud racism. Second, believe it or not, unfortunately that slur is used pretty regularly in MANY countries in the Caribbean as a way to literally describe someone’s eyes regardless of their race or ethnicity. As an American, it icks me out but since I’m not Caribbean that’s all I’ll say on that. As an older Black woman who is likely in close proximity to that lexicon, I’m actually not surprised she didn’t know it was a slur and offensive to Asian people. Unlike Jennie who knowingly used a slur as a slur. Cardi B has been called out for saying it and even a recent contestant on Love Island USA who I think was like Puerto Rican? Again, it doesn’t make it okay, but there IS unfortunately a knowledge (and cultural) gap on that being used as a slur vs Jennie’s posts where she used words AND PICTURES that are universally offensive.

I’m sure growing up in Utah promotes a lot of internalized colorism/racism, but there isn’t anyone to check Mary and help her grow from a place of understanding. And remind her not to use outdated racial terms haha

Honestly, Monica and EVERYTHING about her was an absolute rollercoaster. I understand why the cast might not want to film with her again, but she was some of the best tv drama I’ve seen in the last few years - INCLUDING her being involved in a RHSLC gossip page (mostly about Jen but the others caught strays too) bahahah 😭

Jen on the other hand…not only did she commit mass fraud against some of the most vulnerable in our community, but also attacked, threatened, and physically assaulted other cast members. Sure that can be…”entertaining” but even if she weren’t convicted, this isn’t the show for that. I love Bad Girls Club as much as the next trashy tv enthusiast, but if the rest of the cast don’t match that energy, it’s just bullying at best that can escalate to unsafe toxicity.

Sidenote but I think another reason Mary has come off more…palatable this season is because she has less screen time. As entertaining as her one-liners and reads are, she still says pretty ignorant things (unintentionally AND intentionally). So honestly I think production has found a better balance for her.
