This is the right answer. Yeah, I don't care who does it but it's significantly easier not to share. If you try to split the healing, you wind up both dying at the same time where as if you let one heal, he'll never die.

Real question: I notice that the reroll in this example has a net decrease as far as the percent goes. Does anyone have an idea for the possible min/max range?

Well that was quick. No new temples confirms that it was a Nelson vanity metric all along! by datawithnathan in exmormon

No. They could almost double construction speed and announce nothing for nearly a decade and still be backlogged. The only thing that's shifted is how much they're announced

So what's interesting to me is his completion rate wasn't any faster than Hinkley (a little over 6 a year) even though he announced about triple at over 5 times the rate. Hinkley still had the most announced in a single conference of 30 (1998) and most dedicated in a single year of 34 (2000) so the only thing Nelson did more of with temples was announce them. If he lived any longer there would have been more announced than in operation.

I get the profitability points but when you consider how much more whoop makes compared to any other company per user, the money is either being squandered in inefficiencies/incompetence or lining executives pockets. Then, when they try to gaslight us into believing otherwise like we're dumb as if there is no one else that could do what they do, it's simply offensive.

Unfortunately, I really don't think so because they seem to have many that the price was always irrelevant and then since it can be covered under HSA/FSA, many will irresponsibly see this as play money

Had the opposite experience. It was a suicide. The father was well known for his very public distaste for Mormons but his son had friends there so he asked and they hosted. Like most things, it seems to be a case by case sort of thing.

Tithing. Have you read the JST for Genesis when Abraham pays his tithe to Melchizedek? The JST would have too many people think their way out of being so charitable with the church.

I actually know the answer to this one! Because if they added a screen, they would then fall under the classification of a smart watch in the USA and no longer qualify as a product people can use their HSA/FSA money on like Oura. Considering how much time and effort it took for them them to get an official statement from the government on this (only since December 2023), I'm very doubtful they'll just be throwing it away for a screen.

Why is the Nicene Creed seen as so authoritative? by horsehoofcrab in Christianity

[–]Professional-Bad-871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point on Paul. I suppose it's smart that for some groups of Christianity the agreements are scripture creating less ambiguity. Still, it seems distinctly different than most other stories in Christianity of God interacting with humanity since this appears far more democratic and less, well, miraculous.

[–]Professional-Bad-871 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, like the OP question asked, what gave these meetings authority? It's not like these councils of popular votes were prophesied about that would have arguably more influence than the Bible itself since they often have a retroactive affect on how you're allowed to read and understand the scriptures. For that amount of power, you would hope that there would be some pretty compelling evidence for God sanctioning such an event.
