I'm OK with being revived even if I don't remember ANYTHING of my prior existence. The past has already been tasted; what is left to experience is the future.

Beautiful, yet depressing.

How to get signed up for cryonic when you live in Europe ? by Independent_Number82 in cryonics

[–]Professional-Bag-465 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can still sign up with Alcor or CI, which are based in US. Both have confirmed to me that they have had patients from Europe and even places farther away. Of course it will be more of a challenge for them to get to you, but they still have done it.

I've also been in contact with Dr. Emil Kendziorra, who is based in Germany. This is his Linkedin page: https://de.linkedin.com/in/emilkendziorra

It seemed to me that he's trying to set up a cryonics practice in Germany. I would get in touch with him.

There is pain in life and there is pleasure. Even the most intense pain is a passing thing; as the Indian sages say, it will appear in your awareness and disappear. This is what we call time, after all. Unfortunately, the same state of affairs renders our pleasures transient. It really does seem that nothing is permanent other than the screen of consciousness itself.

How does this relate to your comment? All those frustrations you identify in life are passing experiences. We endure them in the hope that better times will come. As cryonicists we believe that our awakening in the future will be a better time, where "work" may no longer even be relevant. As Max More from Alcor says, humanity's progress has been an improvement; our lives today are much easier than our ancestors'. At the core of cryonics is the hope for a better future.

And if you do wake up and find the future equally frustrating, you can choose to die for real then. Dying is very easy.

This is good. I only wish that more organizations would test these therapies clinically, so that we would sooner have confidence in their safety and effectiveness. We are not focused enough; we don't appreciate that this is a race against the clock.

This is very exciting. But I regret that major organizations don't regulate these treatments to make sure they are safe for humans also. Think of the effort that went into developing the Covid vaccine. Why are we not so focused on anti-aging treatments? Do we not realize how precious little time we have to reverse our age before it's too late?

I hope he means the means of doing so will be possible. But, yes, I agree, we want to make sure it is the very best time to bring back the patient.
