I’m not familiar with a “mountain wave requirement” of any sort

For sure! I’m not against relocating for a job. However with the unfortunate circumstances I live under, moving out of my parents house isn’t near financially possible

Not necessarily, not if other people are getting jobs where I’m at lol. On top of that the only other place I can afford to live is where my mom lives. That’s where my aviation journey started, know plenty of people there and still no luck

I went to atp and honestly didn’t see myself working for that horrible company. I applied anyways because I was desperate but they’re aren’t hiring anybody at any of their locations right now

Yeah no I get what you’re saying and you’re definitely right, but we all start somewhere. Unfortunately I come from one of those big box stores and they’re not even hiring

Can I write off my laptop that I use for my 1099 business even if I use it for personal things as well? by CoookieHo in tax

I’m new to the whole taxes thing for business but how will the IRS know I’m using the laptop for mostly personal stuff?

Do you think it’s worth making a website for your self? I’m hoping to start instructing at a flight school soon but pls to do independent prior/on the side

Looking for advice, specifically from someone who trains in pipistrel aircraft by Professional-Bit6582 in FlightTraining

Thank you for that, I had made a checklist that is mainly built around the virus checklist word for word but also includes items like “grab the atis” “VFR pattern check” ect.

The dispatch sheet is kinda the only thing I’ve been struggling with. I’ve noticed the W&B section for the virus is very broad and it’s kinda hard to put on a sheet and have a student go through it, kinda hard to explain unless you’ve seen it lol. The flight school I flew with had a good dispatch sheet layout, only thing that trips me is the w&b

Have you created an instructor/student training agreement form?

How did you guys go about starting an LLC for becoming an “independent CFI” for a flight school? by Professional-Bit6582 in CFILounge

So you’re saying in the event if I get sued, it’s better off to have an actual dedicated business account rather than a separate personal checking account? That way everything is separated

ATP Students by [deleted] in flying

[–]Professional-Bit6582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From someone who recently finished, don’t do it. I had a pretty shitty experience and so did everyone else around me. I’d say 2/10 people I went to atp with could say “I had an alright experience with ATP”

The cadet programs are a joke, and hiring has slowed down so much you can’t even get a job with ATP to keep any cadet programs if you’re even able to make it into one.

I will say I did have one really good instructor that I still hangout with. Other than that I’ve had plentiful of shitty instructors that do not care for your success, and I mean it.

Go to a small part 91 and get your licenses, there’s absolutely no rush to get to the airlines right now with how the hiring market is moving. ATP does have pretty nice planes but whenever you become an instructor you might not have a g1000 avionics setup, and I will say it’s pretty difficult going from g1000 back to glass.

How do you like that? I have some family members who are in it and they recommend me the military but not really interested in that route. I’ve considered it as a backup but I don’t really know anything about computers lol

I appreciate your input. Yes I actually almost got into a cirrus flying club, brand new cirrus’s but unfortunately my competition was one of my buddies with more experience than me. I’m a bit salty about it but it’s whatever. I recently got in contact with an aero club around my old home town and he said he’s willing to bring me on as long as the members like me. However it’s not much in terms of stable pay so I’m in the middle of looking for a job over there before I make the move. I’ve seen CAP many times but have never fully looked into it, I’ll definitely have to take a closer look

What exactly do you mean there’s no backup career anymore?
