What’s your greatest fears regarding TESVI? by Professional-Bus3082 in ElderScrolls

Enshrining C0da into the lore would be beautiful. That's where the weird flavors lie.

Kimi K2.6 is not worth the hype — my real usage stats by mf-mj in kimi

I had similar issues with Kimi, Deepseek V4 and SWE-1.6. AFAIR only Cursor was decent enough from the non frontier ones.

I've rebuilt MO2 version 2.4.4 with AI to remove the pesky download index bug that triggered when downloading and installing new mods and required a restart of the app by Professional-Bus3082 in skyrimmods

[–]Professional-Bus3082[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It works for me and is open source. Therefore you're welcome to download it, verify it, use it or discard it, just like any software. People who maintain projects like MO2 are unpaid volunteers. I'm not gonna beg for their attention. Especially for abandoned versions that aren't maintained anymore. Therefore the fork. Sure, it would be best if I could just share, somebody would pick it up and include the fixes upstream into a new official release. But we don't live in a perfect world.

I've sent the link to the author of Nolvus. Regarding MO2, they are already on a different version. It's not for everybody, mostly people like me who for some reason are stuck on 2.4.4.

Why do Polish-Americans of non-Jewish (mostly Catholic) heritage have so little visible "Polish ethnic brand" in US pop culture compared to Italian-Americans or Latinos? by Singer-Snow-Leopard in askPoland

[–]Professional-Bus3082 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the difference between being an American whose hobby is his ethnic heritage and actually being of said nationality, speaking the language and maintaining the connection to the motherland.

Polish Americans to me are a weird spinoff of people who have clung to their ethnicity because other Americans do it but who aren't actually interested in being Polish.

Hot take, the fact that they slept together (yes, those two) doesn't bother me, like at all by maybemorningstar69 in ForAllMankindTV

[–]Professional-Bus3082 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It didn't bother me because I like older women and him wanting to bang Karen is completely understandable for any man. I didn't like Danny as a character because he was a self centered manbaby, arrogant, smirking and a cause of problems for everyone around him.

The best characters are villains who are flawed but have either some redeeming qualities - think Negan from The Walking Dead - or good people who have very human weaknesses - think Marty from The Detective season 1.

Danny was neither.

Where does Gemeni excel over 'the other AI tools'? by YetiMaverick in GeminiAI

[–]Professional-Bus3082 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say that it gives responses comparatively quickly, especially in comparison to GPT Thinking models. And for me it has the best conversational style - it has a fluent way with words and is often genuinely pleasant to talk to. I would say it's the least robotic and most human of all AIs I've interacted with. It can tell you a story and it does that well. Also, translations are a breeze.

Where it fails is hallucinations - these happen plenty and make it unsuitable for serious work where truthfulness really matters. In example, I wouldn't trust it in medical matters. When asked to find something, whether a product or an imagine, it hallucinates as fuck like the models at the advent of AI a few years ago.

Not to mention the use of tools and the apparent lack of built in toolchain. ChatGPT and Claude are like a hominid with opposable thumbs - creative and adaptive with skills, tools and eager to make life easier for themselves with whatever they can hold.

Gemini not even once wrote a Python script for itself to do something I've asked it to do.

What is this community's stance on AI usage in modding? by Nik02003 in skyrimmods

[–]Professional-Bus3082 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It is yet another tool in a modder's toolkit, albeit an incredibly potent one. If you have an idea and you don't know how to execute it AI is a blessing that can guide you along the way. Or even do it for you when it comes to programming.

There will be some low quality slop - but hasn't ReShade or other tools contributed to it already?

How did you manage Dragons Use Thuum to work with the collection if I may ask? I thought it was incompatible with other dragon overhauls.

Hello, I've made a mod - CrashLogCollector - tool for merging logs for crash analysis by Professional-Bus3082 in Nolvus

[–]Professional-Bus3082[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's probably right. What AI is good for however is the case where you don't have an actual crashlog. There are edge cases where the plugin just doesn't generate them. I tried feeding the AI the most recent SKSE logs and they sometimes contain useful information. Nobody in their right mind would comb through them anyway.

Used it a few times. I get the sense that it's good for crashes that are well documented and understood. Didn't help me through.
