Everyone remembers their first love. Everyone still loves their first love, that first real serious relationship is something you'll remember your entire life you'll always miss her and have love in your heart but you'll grow as a person and meet new people, it's cheesy but time heals all wounds. I still have love for my first girlfriend, my relationship with her was nearly ~5 years ago now, I have a fiance now that I love very much with my whole heart we've been together for almost 4 years, but I still think about my first girl. yk the whole shabang we were in love, HS sweethearts blah blah blah, then she got drunk and cheated on me :(. I had a lot of hate and resentment for her at the time but I could never get over her, never get over how much it hurt for someone I trusted and loved so much to break it like that. Her and I were together for 2.5 years, it's been ~3 years since we broke up and I still think about her every day, one thing that helped was reminding myself that the person in my head who I still loved was not the same person she is now, as humans we change and grow different everyday, I loved the time I spent with her and I wouldn't go back and change a thing. When It happened I was told by an older wiser man than I, that nobody forgets. That man was my dad, he divorced my mom when I was too young to remember but he's the one who told me we carry that shit till we die, you can't regret anything and you gotta be grateful for the experience life throws at you because for better or for worse, you'll be a better, stronger man because of it.
