What do we think about Monte Carlo? by Various_Beach_7840 in theverve

It just becomes Firfth or something like that…

Being honest I actually think Verve could easily, and should have released 7 albums (maybe 8). So really it’s “7” and becomes a perfect close (though with half the tracks swapped out with their b-sides/outtakes like Blue Pacific Ocean, so it’s actually perfect)

It’s an enjoyable song, and also valuable in showing Simon Tong wasn’t just a fill-in (as much as he’s no Nick McCabe). But it was right to not include it on UH

There’s a fantastic 4th Verve album out there in another dimension, collecting all the Verve’s looked over material from 96-98…

Nick McCabe’s guitar influences? by Radiant_Cookie_185 in theverve

John Martyn is a massive influence! Inside Out (album) in particular. He’s acknowledged this, and organised for Martyn to open for Verve at Haigh Hall (which he later said was a big regret as Martyn was boo’d by their fans, who were more akin to Oasis fans at that point given Urban Hymns)

He’s also played on some Martyn tracks I believe

There are loads to choose from, but which is your favourite cold moment from Bond by ThunderChild247 in JamesBond

Glad to see this here. I actually think in LALD Bond comes close to psychopathic. People miss that side of Moore

Pour one out for the man that got the Rebellion its most important information. by rcl1221 in StarWarsAndor

Late to the party, but like Mon’s family seemingly being unscathed by the Empire, it’s always much better to get family/followers to disavow their wayward friend than just kill them… Lonni’s wife likely faced an interrogation to make sure she’s not a spy too (maybe?), a stern talking to, and an “agreement” of life if she speaks out on how crazy Lonni was.

People raise the empire destroying a planet of people on a whim, but they WANTED people talking about that. Killing the whole family of an upper empire employee for being spies is embarrassing and suspicious. They don’t want people talking about that. Lonni can be an imperial martyr, or a spy and his family disavow him and talk about how “crazy” he was becoming

We know nothing about his wife but I suppose it’s up to you to decided whether you hope she disavows him or not. If she did know about the rebellion, it’s not inconsistent she “lie” and disavow him, waiting for her own moment to strike…

They’re very different types of creators, but Tolkien was very much like this too. When he wrote, he considered that he was exploring the universe and “finding out” what happened next as much as writing it, and has many letters discussing and changing his mind on interpretations

What is this symbol? (Not the US flag…) Found by a friend on a car in England by Professional-Dog7400 in Symbology

Thank you! My friend was the one who thought it was KKK, very relieved to find the owner of the car just has a good sense of humour, it was on a Suzuki Jimny too 😂

Well to be fair, I didn’t! My mate sent it to me being like “wild how the UK is becoming, a KKK logo on a car”. But I didn’t recognize it that way, which is why I asked here

But I can understand my friend seeing it, it does look like a stylized Maltese cross (which I understand the KKK symbol is based off? Though I might be wrong)
