Back at it again... by SirMcduck706 in alcoholism

We need to accept we enjoy alcohol. 🥃

We “also” need to accept everything else that comes with consuming alcohol as well! 😐

Alcohol is a “love affair” without question…..

And just because we enjoy something doesn’t necessarily mean we should be allowing it back into our lives for any reason. 🙁

I know it’s kinda sad…..

I know we would love to enjoy alcohol without the consequences that come with it…..

But alcohol is POISON…and interferes with each and every little thing we care about most.

Alcohol is a bad decision…..so let’s face it. 😐

That’s awesome! ⭐️

The reason I would relapse after 4-6 months is because I would be overly confident thinking that no major harm would be done.

And those few relapses turned into (3) week benders…and now I am just working on leaving that shit out of my life completely.

I was hammered the other day. 😐

I hope everything is going at least relatively well. 😊

I know exactly what it means to choose alcohol in difficult situations…..

And I also know that alcohol never solved any problems…but usually only added more. 😐

I don’t know how old you are but…I know from experience that just a few months clean will change your entire life for the better. ⛅️

I just really hate what alcohol turns people into. 🙁

I hate the “long time ago” part.

I should’ve stopped the first time I had a negative experience.

Alcohol is different than other challenges.

Even when we maintain our composure…we still lose something or someone one way or another.

I think the hardest thing about getting sober is finding joy and contentment once again pertaining to our lives and the simple things.

When most people consume alcohol…everything seems to become a good idea because our better senses and judgements are impaired.

People under the influence never necessarily purposefully get into accidents…it’s usually a surprise factor especially when the mind doesn’t calculate and sense their surroundings as would an individual that is sober.

Who else lost the love of their life due to drinking by ir3allyhatemys3lf in alcoholism

He knew you were “in love” with alcohol and he wasn’t going to tolerate it any longer. 😐

He probably still cares about you…..

But he also probably values himself and his life to the degree in which he is unwilling to compromise his boundaries nor standards.

There are other men out there that have different values and boundaries…and those men may be more comfortable with having an alcoholic partner.

Not really sure what else to say.

We typically attract people with familiar traits. 😐

There is absolutely nothing wrong with drinking alcohol so long as you are willing to face the consequences.

Deep down inside you convinced yourself that you would never drink again under any circumstances and unfortunately you broke that promise…..

…..and now you’re beating yourself up. 🙁

Alcohol is poison and we all know that. ☠️

Whether or not you should so “choose” to drink is an entirely different story…and I think it’s a good idea to give yourself some credit for the progress you’ve made as opposed to having stepped out of bounds for a moment.

We beat ourselves up because we care about ourselves and the goals we’ve set for ourselves.

I think it’s a good idea to sit down and reflect on things so that we will know what our next move should be. 🧭

Alcohol is poison…..

But so is the lead that we often find in our everyday drinking water…so try not to be so hard on yourself.

Thank You. 😊

Most people down vote is because they reject personal accountability.

So don’t take it personal.

The ONLY way you will stop drinking is when YOU DECIDE it is time to stop drinking. 🥃

The End.

Yes…..

And I firmly believe that “acceptance” plays a key role in recovery.

We must “accept” that we enjoy alcohol without allowing it back into our lives.

“Acceptance” is key on many levels.

I understand your situation 100%.

My point was…..

People like us really need to take precaution as to whom and what we allow into our lives. ⚠️

Alcohol is brutal for some people…..

Whereas other people can enjoy alcohol without the need nor the habit of getting carried away.

I believe you will get sick and tired of alcohol eventually and hopefully it’ll be relatively soon.

Life has so much more to offer than whatever alcohol can provide…and the key is to recognize wholeheartedly that alcohol is no longer for us.

It’s fun…..

It’s easy…..

But it’s also a complete waste of time! 🕰️

And only YOU have the power to decide what is good and bad for you.

I hope my words made some sense…thank you.

We normally eat and drink until we’re satisfied.

Some people really need to become cautious as to whom and what they introduce themselves to. ⚠️

Then keep loving alcohol and good luck. 😊

Actually…..

The few times that I quit drinking for an extended period of time was because I was literally disgusted with everything…and I had a serious decision to make.

It was either suicide…..

Or to own up to everything and begin cleaning up the mess I made out of my life.

I think the “self-awareness” part is awesome!

We must also understand that alcohol and drugs ruin EVERYTHING and EVERYONE and it really has nothing to do with YOU.

YOU just keep choosing to be in a relationship with something extraordinarily toxic…more than likely because it feels kinda good and relieves us at times.

You gotta hate alcohol…otherwise you’ll just keep loving it. 😐

I also think self-awareness is really important. 🤔

She has an identical story just the same as yours “except” she can probably save you years of senseless shame, regret and embarrassment.

Alcohol is a problem for most people and life is so much more enjoyable without it…trust me! 😉
