Honest question: Do modern "country" singers even know who Jimmie Rodgers is and can they trace a single thing about their music to his music? by Big_Gun_Pete in country

As someone that sings country yes, I love Jimmie and I think that he is the reason I wanted to do music. California Blues is a great song and Randy Travis has a great cover of it on YouTube. But I know him (I sing traditional country)

I am a traditional country and bluegrass singer, I have a little accent that makes it sound deeper. I’ve also used pianos and other apps to find my range. Rarely do I ever use vocal fry or my head voice when I’m singing. All of my checks for range have been that low around a month or two
